Anyone know of some great things to do during the winter break of academic year? Is it common to go abroad (just to visit, volunteer, or whatever)?

I have a 1500 scholarship for the winter break of this upcoming academic year and would love to use it wisely. Any thoughts?

How longs your break?

Last year I got home the 23rd and had a two week break… so Idk how I could do anything with that.

Just see if you can cash out the scholarship, or buy books for next semester

If your school has it, you could do an intense winter session and get some classes out of the way.
You could also go volunteer somewhere warm and get a nice tan:)

oh, you mean like an externship? I know that UMDNJ has a dental externship over winter break I’m sure if you look hard enough you could find some…

My winter break this year is one week longer than my winter break this past year. So my winter break is about 5 weeks this year.

I would love to use it for something else, but in order to get the funds I have to write up a proposal of what I will be doing with the money. So basically, it has to get approved first.

I’m liking the idea of volunteering somewhere.
