Thanks!
Again, I cannot stress this enough. As a freshman, don’t stress about taking the so called “easiest” classes at Duke just for the sake of maintaining a high GPA for medical school or law school. Being a Duke student affords you the rare opportunity to take a whole host of diverse courses in the liberal arts, including courses that may fall outside of your comfort zone. Your freshmen seminar and Writing 101 are perfect opportunities for you to explore a topic or subject that you genuinely want to learn more about.
But genuinely speaking, you can cross-reference courses on rate my professor to get a sense of the grading scale for each seminar. Also, most seminars are heavily discussion based, so get ready for a lot of reading and talking instead of online shopping for yachts during lecture (which I have witnessed more than once).
