Do many of them think of B+ as like a "nice try! You almost got an A!" or "you're such a slacker." Is there any differences in what colleges see from a B+ and a regular B?

you could ask this about any grade, and theres no good answer. it really depends on the course, what the college usually sees for GPAs (IE, harvard sees a lot more UW 4.0s than your average community college) , difficulty of your school, the grade in context of your transcript etc. A B+ is a b but the best kind! at my school, b+s and above are called "honors grades" so def not a slacker grade, and im sure some colleges agree with this ... ;)

I think you're overanalyzing it. They look at your overall GPA, and glance at your grades and get a sense of how well you're doing. These guys spend 1 minute looking at your transcript, most likely. They're not going to count up how many B+ as opposed to B grades you received.

I think they see a B+ as more than a B and less than an A.

People like you are why the college admissions process has gone out of control

Good way to put it, harmon. Though technically, I think they'd be more likely to see it as lying between a B and an A-. Seriously, I'm no expert (disclaimer), but I doubt it's a big deal.

it also depends on the second semester. A B+ first semester followed by an A second semester demonstrates character.

It also demonstrates leadership potential.

do i smell a hook!?

B+ shows college that you don't wanna study and you will fail all the classes in colleges by not making A++++ for that they will reject anyone with a B+ and I'm very serious about this :D
