I got an 800 Cr and a 610 Math on my SAT, and i just wanted to know if they'll like my 800 CR enough to not care too much about the math. I'm looking at schools like Upenn, Cornell, Georgetown, Bowdoin. Also, do schools generally care more about CR scores than math?

I heard schools look at CR and math as the same level of importance. Writing does matter, but I don't think it matters as much as CR and math. I'm not sure though.

The composite score matters the most. writing is the weak link, but both math and reading are critical. I would recommend preping for sat math. For the schools you've listed, that score MUST go up.

It is definitely the composite score that holds the most importance, I recommend hitting at least a 700 math before you feel relatively confident for those schools

I always thought that having a higher score is better than having a higher Math score, because comprehension is more important than tricky, ambiguous math problems from classes you took in Middle school. But, I am wrong. They care about both equally.

omg, you are like the same as me, except opposite!
I got 790 math, 620 reading, and 700 writing!!

But it's not like I want to be a reader when I grow up or anything!!!
BOO :(

haha, but nah, I'm looking at those kind of schools too. and I think it's alright. My brother got a 1410/1600 too and he got into Cornell (ED though), he was smart, but no genius or anything. But I guess getting a higher score wouldn't hurt at all.

I'm pretty sure OP is not majoring in math... I generally thought the CR score was more important because more people get an 800 in math than an 800 in CR. But alas, they are treated basically equally. However, I'd increase the 610 to at least 670.
