Hey guys I’m a entering freshman EE major and I just wanted to know what people like about Davis. Maybe perhaps theres something you think is only present in Davis and not the other UCs. Anything would be helpful. Thanks.

For my d it's all about the Aggie pride and the spirit of warmth and friendliness that pervades the UC Davis campus.

The Cows.
Mooooooooooooo

That it's an hour and a half away from home

uh i see cows outside the dorm window when i was at orientation! and it's hot. i havn't been to any other uc campus but everyone at davis was super cool and stuff :d

Yeah. Many other campus' student's are very snobby. Davis' were all very friendly.

I like most aspects of Davis, but I think the thing I like most is that the general ed requirements are really not that stringent, as they are at many other schools. Unless you're majoring in something like engineering that has a very strict set of classes and requirements, there is plenty of room to explore. The system has allowed me to take many classes outside of my major, so that in addition to literature, I've been able to take classes in linguistics (my second major), latin, and philosophy as well. And, even though the quarter system is fast, it allows for more variety in courses.

Also, Davis is just a really cool, quaint little place. It's a lot of fun :)

I like the ducks. =]
They enjoy sitting in the middle of the street. And then you're not allowed to shoo them away or you'll get a ticket. That's what I call power.

the ducks waddled near me, and they were so cool! if i were just a little more asian, I would've ate them D:

There are these same two ducks that are ALWAYS sitting together in the fountain by the MU or right by the quad. They're pretty awesome. I think there's a little somethin' somethin' going on between them ;)

Ducks mate for life. If one mate dies they mourn and refuse a new mate.

Davis campus = nicest/coolest people ever

I agree with dmission; Davis people are laid back and very nice in general. You can talk to anyone! It's also very beautiful here. I took it for granted my freshman year, but I remember these clear moments where I'd actually stop walking on my way to class just to look at the the shadows the trees made on the street in the quad. Gorgeous.

I'm not sure what else to say; there are so many great things about this place, haha. I love Davis, and there's no other place I'd rather go to school. :)

I can't wait!!!

me either!!!! I'm catching the Davis fever already!!!!!

i love how most of the students are highly motivated in terms of academics....but are humble at the same time. Everyone studies and works together, and drama is scarce....everyone is popular and friendly, as well as hard workers.

lol. Drama. Hate it. Glad it's not at Davis. But then again.....it's college. The classes are huge..so there is no real localization of Drama to take place. People are busy with studies at Davis to be have Drama

Now to answer the question.

What do I like about Davis? The endless pastures of Cows and the dream to sneak around one night, and get free Milk for the duration of college. Mwhahaha. Did I mention the smell of Cows is awesome too? Hahaha. High five everyone!

haha...yeah. there's nothing quite like the smell of cow poop in the morning! really gets the brain going and ready for classes ;)
