I am taking 14 credit hours first semester:
CHem 101 (Bio, organic, General) (5credits)
Anatomy 201 (3 credits)
History 150 (3 credits)
Psychology (3 credits)

Do you think I will have plenty of free-time on my hands? I am only worried because I don't know how hard these classes will be. It takes me longer than most people to understand and absorb the material discussed in class to the fullest. Also, my psychology class is only one day a week but it is 3 hours long on that day haha....Is that gonna suck really bad?

I started with 16 units my first quarter. The first couple of weeks you will definitely have free time on your hands because the classes are just starting and the wheels are just rolling. You can start gauging how busy you get once it’s around the fourth or fifth weeks once midterms start coming around and the classes get a little more intense. Based on your schedule, it seems fine and you should have some free time here and there to fill it in with clubs or anything else your college may interest you.

3 hour classes suck. I try to avoid them because I need breaks. The max I’m willing to sit, etc is an hour and 15. Of course this 3 hour class has a break. It’s probably a 15 minute break. I also try to avoid them because if you miss one session it is like missing a week of a given class.

Anyway, your courses won’t be difficult unless you’re just flat out ■■■■■■■■.

You can judge to a degree whether something will be easy or not by its number. Something like 100 would be pretty simplex regardless of how difficult the subject tends to be to understand.

For instance, Calculus 100 if such exists would be hard in terms of it being Calculus, but easy in terms of it revolving around the subject.

3-hour classes are the norm for me. 75% of classes at my school are taught that way.

The worst I ever had was a 4-hour class… on Monday mornings (8:30 to 12:30). It was the only time in the week where the class was taught so I didn’t have much of a choice.

OP, that schedule sounds fine. You’d be shocked how much free time you really have as a college student, since you don’t have the same classes every day.

Since im bored…
m/w/f I wake up around 6am…make breakfast and get everyone out the door, then get out the door myself. Go to class from 8-11, lunch break, then another hour class. Come home and study til around 5, cook dinner, and watch tv/do more homework.

T/R I will only have an hour class, still have to wake up at 6 tho. More time to study and clean the house during the day.

Last year every Tues and Thurs I had a three class 8am - 11am and then Mon, Wed and Friday I had a three hour class 10 am - 1pm plus three other classes. Beat. That.
