I'm in Georgia and mine is still on preliminary review, HOWEVER, my best friend had his status change yesterday to under review.... so not great news for some of us.

I'm still at prelim review from 12/9. From Southern California, so not sure about the region idea.

Did everyone whose status changed to the 3rd status (your app is being reviewed... we will mail notification by april 1) apply to Marshall? If this is a hint at scholarship decisions, then I hope it is just the people who applied to Marshall for now... :( I thought my theory on status changes based on schools failed after I saw that zircushio applied as an engineering major, but I realized that his/her status was only at the first one. Haha I HOPE MY THEORY IS CORRECT BECAUSE I REALLY WANT MY ADMISSION DECISION ASAP!!!!

Mine changed, and I'm applying to Engineering...

pinkie: I half did, and I received the status change. I've primarily seen this program discussed with Viterbi, but I'd imagine Marshall has some say in admission as well.

From USC Catalogue:
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

The combined Bachelor of Science degree program in computer science/business administration offers qualified students the opportunity to gain an educational foundation in both areas. Students must meet the admission requirements for both the Computer Science department in the Viterbi School of Engineering and the Marshall School of Business. The degree is administered by the Computer Science department.

I'm sure my status will change last because I applied to one of the tinier schools - Policy, Planning, and Development... probably look at my application last so they can get the big schools out of the way?

Not trying to cause anyone to panic or anything about scholarships, but for me, it just changed to "being reviewed" from "preliminary review" today. I'm an international applying to Viterbi. (I applied by the Dec 10 scholarship deadline)

I honestly don't think this means anything, since, how could this have any implication for scholarships before they've even reviewed my application?

My status is at "your application is being reviewed" as of 1/21, and I applied to the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences

Mine still hasn't changed. Applied to Marshall, if that matters.

prelim review completed; 12/10/08

Mine hasn't changed from prelim review and I applied to Marshall.

mine went from

as a prospective transfer, does anyone have any ideas what they are doing? :)

I was gonna resist reading this thread because it was so crazy-making last year when my son was applying. But resistance was futile! Regarding post 42 about what happens to status changes for spring admits - I looked up my son's: it was changed from "preliminary" to "in review" on 3/26, and then changed 4/1 to acted upon. He received his spring admission the day before it changed to acted upon. There was a huge wave of acted upon's dated 4/1.

Although that may sound bleak (and it was hard to wait that long), he was moved up to fall admission, got into the best film school in the world, and is happy beyond belief as a freshman at USC. He (and I) had hoped his 1600/2350 SAT would get him a scholarship interview, and it didn't, but the National Merit award is huge so that was a good consolation. And a University Scholarship appeared out of nowhere, so he's now getting about $22k per year. I'm saying this here only so that those of you who are disappointed in not getting a Trustee or Presidential interview will have reason to believe that things often will work out just fine. Good luck, and be positive, regardless of what happens!

Well, considering nobody has received the Acted On status, is it safe to assume that we won't hear for atleast another week?

FauxNom...thank you for your post. Very helpful. Congrats to your son!

bmwguy, not necessarily. Last year my D's status changed from prelim to reviewing to acted on within a day and a half. I remember we were so surprised. It happened on Jan 24/25, and she received the package on the 26th, a Saturday. Who knows, there may be some surprises early next week.

Regardless of when you receive word, or whether you are invited for a scholarship or not, FauxNom's words are very true...everything will work out for the best.

Sequoia, your daughter received scholarship or just general acceptance?

She was invited for the interview, and received the Trustee. We didn't know, or expect a scholarship invitation, when she got the acceptance, but the letter came in the mail a couple of days afterwards.

I got the status update on 1/21/2009:

Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don't receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

Today I got another update 1/24/2009 but it doesn't change the text, I now have a little bar that says "Click here to see status of specific documents, or to turn in missing items". It takes me to the Oasis page and I registered an account but it doesn't give me any specific information.... How do they ask for midterm grades?

Good or Bad?

(FL applicant, SCA)

Qzar mine says the same thing
