I'm an Olympic development-level national athlete, so I train a lot and tend to work up quite an appetite- at the same time, I worry about bulking up from all the muscular workouts, so I really try to watch my weight. 120 lbs for me is only a size 4.

I've found that breakfast is the most important key to my success- I've found that if I eat the right things, I will not get hungry throughout the day, or "crash and burn" when I get home from training and school...

Here's a really great breakfast idea (sounds weird, I know- I made this one up myself.....packed full of protein, and really good). At least it's worked for me :)

Banana smush Waffle: slice a banana into lots of pieces, and microwave for 30-45 seconds. While this is microwaving, toast either a kashi whole grain or whole weat waffle. After the waffle is toasted, immediately spread reduced-fat peanut butter on it (so it melts from the heat). Take the cooked banana pieces, and using a knife, spread on top of the peanut butter waffle- you've just made a kind of banana spread (almost like a home-made jelly).....anyway, it's really good and healthy

Warm Berries in a Bowl: Get a bag of organic frozen mixed berries from the freezer section of the grocery store (be sure to check the ingredients to make sure that you are getting just that...you want no sugar added or any weird chemicals) heat a handful in a bowl for one minute, and pour a packet of splenda over them to taste.

Hot Tea is essential :) ...(not really, I just like it and think it goes w/the breakfast)

Heh I'm an absolute sugar freak. I absolutely adore sweet things (though I'm trying desperately to cut back). It doesn't help that I've always had this need to put things in my mouth to chew them. And of course, food is very chewable. lol. I'm not even joking about the chewing thing; I've stuck all sorts of things in my mouth without even thinking about it. Mouthguards, remote controls, book pages and the books themselves...

My major issue is that I love food. lol. I play lacrosse almost half the year, sometimes more, and I end up gaining fat from all those delicious team dinners. lol. Not so great.

But yes, I do try to be healthy... That is, when I can resist the urge to munch on something.

Wow. I exercise almost every day, love fruits (I'm digging pummelos right now) and vegetables (especially green ones), and am mostly conscious of what I eat (I just throw a few cups of spinach into anything I cook, including pizza!)...The closest I get to fast food is Chipotle...and I am 5'4'' and 155 lbs. I am a size 10 and feel healthy because I feel good about what I put in my body, when I played basketball I was a 6 and weighed 140. My friends make fun of me for being so buff, but I dare you to tell me I am overweight and then punch my abs! I am happy being curvy and comfortable in my own skin, and to everyone, I hope you are too, no matter your weight.

i think that eating healthy just makes you feel better, i went to chilis the other night for a birthday, and felt like CRAP afterwards, twice a week on fast food is my limit (and then i only stick to chipotle and this chinese place that doesnt cook in a wok so its not greasy) and i always notice afterwards that i feel horrible, exercising alleviates this a bit but nothing is comprable to eating healthy food from home

i think that healthy food is more filling than alot of junkfood so you dont tend to eat as much (quantity), but you can still eat until you are full, and after you eat healthy for a long time, junkfood just doesnt sound appealing anymore

Yup, pretty sure I'm one of the fatter people on here- 5'5 and 150lbs. I still don't consider myself to be really fat, and people say I look like I weigh about 130, but knowing I don't makes me feel like crap. I used to run cross country and track but I got a stress fracture in my foot in September and had to stop, and unfortunately went from 135 to 150, and from a size 6/8 to an 11. I didn't want to get into double digits, wahhh!

Anyway, my foot's healing and I'm getting back to normal. I take dance, and I've started going back to that on my about 6 hour a week schedule, and I'm eating more healthily. Not to thread-jack for diets here, but Weight Watchers works wonders if you want to get off like 10-20lbs. 1000-1200 calories a day, and you can safely lose about 2lbs a week and eat whatever you want. Now I just have to motivate myself to do it even though it's freezing outside and I have no desire to get smaller and lose body heat at the moment:)

afro americans tender to be more musclar right? I've seen this guy at my gym and he's huge, like all muscle, part must be from the workout but I'm sure its also because he is african american. Hes quite an awesome guy so he let me check out his routine sheet and its amazing what he is able to lift.

I eat Indian food(white rice, lentil, fried veggies, etc.) on weekdays and my family usually eats out at a restaurant on weekends. My philosopy actually is to eat whatever you feel like eating and not worry about putting on weight and stuff like that till you're at least 30.

Yes, I drink more soda than water lol and do eat fast food quite frequently,but it's not like I'm an unhealthy person. No matter what anyone on this site may say, food is definitely one of the "finer" pleasures in life and I feel entitled to indulge in eating in a manner that I feel fit.

If you're one of those moral people who try to denounce all the sins of the masses like fast food, drinking, smoking, gambling, sex, lavish purchases, etc., then you should really start wondering what joy you actually get from life.

So you got into Harvard and make a million dollars a year??? So what!!! Your wife and children will spend all of your money and you will be left partying at your workplace for the rest of your life if you don't submit to earthly temptations.

fast food freak but i run 30+ miles a week. whatever floats your boat just eat everything in moderation & do cardio workouts. you're so skinny anyway!:-)

My diet is near-vegan (my parents make me eat meat sometimes, but I try not to) and healthy for the most part. I just don't exercise as much as I should.

Vegetarian = no meat
Vegan = no animal products

I can't legitimately call myself a vegan, as I do use some animal products (wool sweaters, leather boots for riding, etc), and like I mentioned in my post, my parents force me to eat meat sometimes because they don't think I'll get enough nutrients otherwise. :mad:

Lots of red meat. Steaks, chiken, lots of fish. Fatty acids-fish oils, etc. BCAAs, major amino acids, multivitamins. Glutamine, Whey Protein x3 each day. Not much carbs at the moment, only on saturday. Creatine when my body is fully sustained.

As for food, i eat 6 meals a day

Breakfast- Oatmeal, eggs, wheat bread, nothing that has sugars!

2nd meal- Protein Shake + Pure Protein

Lunch- Lots of meat!!

4rd- more protein

5th- even more protein!!

Dinner- Canned Tuna + wheat bread, etc.

Just before bed- protein shake

This is not an amataur diet so you have to control yourself. Also i drink a large amount of water each and every day.

hahahhaha "how do you poop"................. lol

i wanted to share with everyone that i yesterday i decided to actually drink the recommended daily 8 cups of water. and i did that today also. man i had to go to the bathroom SOOO much!
