What Halls should I pick?

I picked...

Wildwood
Degraff
Kellum
GilChrist

are they bad choices or should i pick any others? i heard Kellum was bad... :(

The east-side dorms are probably best for freshmen:
Gilchrist
Broward
Jennie Murphree
Reynolds
Landis
DeGraff
See the link here to the Residence Halls.

Depends if your willing to shell out the 1-2 grand on a meal plan. Your top two doesn't involve a meal plan so your good to go.

My boyfriend lives in Kellum and its really the pits. Same with Smith.

our s lived in glichrist last summer and wildwood this year. he enjoyed both, but thought that gilchrist was a bit more social and is more centrally located.

wildwood is newer and is in a great spot for the fall right near the football stadium.

you can't go wrong with either one. he even got a double w/private bath this year in wildwood.

wildwood is a social hall, but you can almost always hear band practice going on in the afternoons (if you're a napper and a light sleeper), and it's a bit out of the way in terms of dining halls/any food place.

other than that it's great.

and i know people who do like kellum and smith, since they're so social. it really just depends what you want out of your hall experience.

I picked:

Salley
Deviney
Dorman
Cawthon

I was nervous about the location and the meal plan. I really don't want to have a meal plan, but most of my classes will be in the East Side (school of Theatre) and most of those halls need MP.
I loved Salley's layout; I'm really nervous about getting a dorm with a commuinty-style living.

What priority # do you have? I think mine is so high (just over 5,000) I won't even get on-campus housing.

There are a lot more dorm rooms available than in past years so you might still be given on campus housing. Call the housing department to ask what the situation is.

Are the any freshman halls that are suite-style?

and LOL at me even asking w/o having filled out housing forms (parents want me to wait to see if i get OOS tuition reduction)

Yes most of the dorms are suite style except Deviney, Dorman, Kellum and Smith are old hall style I believe.

My number is 5,200 something... horrible i know!
To think i applied a day after i was accepted.

i have 5030 lol. i hope i get a dorm

yeah.. im 5099.. so is there an ok chance at getting housing that isn't kellum or smith? =P I'll be calling tomorrow..
