What link do i click to "reject" berkeley now that im accepted

This school moved to the bottom of my list. I would rather go to Cal Poly than here. But how do I unaccept their admission offer?

Wow, you're smart enough to get into Cal Poly, yet you can't figure out how to decline an acceptance without consulting the internet?

i just want to know where the link is on the myberkeley application so i don't have to deal with berkeley as an option anymore because though they accepted me, their financial aid sucks...

are you implying that getting into cal poly is harder than getting into berkeley?

No..........

You didn't honestly expect a helpful response after talking down about Berkeley in a Berkeley Forum******. How silly, truly.

Look real hard it moves around in a ninja like fashion. It took me 45 minutes chase it down and corner it.

Hahahahahaha. Hahaha.

Ha.

Click on Submit Statement of Intent to Register in myBerkeleyApp. Click through two pages and you'll see the option to say you do not want to attend Berkeley.

Then you're done and off to CalPoly.

wow this convinced me that berkeley aint for me.

How so? (10 char)

because he/she got rejected

88keys deserves all the crap. i mean, you can't expect berkeley students to praise this kid for turning down berkeley.

It would be one thing if 88keys really just wasn't smart enough to decline admission to Cal (which obviously isn't the case), but coming on here and saying what he/she said was an attempt at trash talking (for whatever reason). If you want to come onto Cal's board and talk trash about the school, then don't expect a bunch of Cal students to pat you on the back.

You don't have to decline Berkeley... if you don't SIR by May 1 then they assume you aren't enrolling. You can jus delete the acceptance from your e-mail and your done. Good luck!

thats a bit unnecessary. im glad that you r not coming to cal.

if you cant figure out that most cal students here have no experience on denying cal's acceptance, i would question the merit of your education.

if you are here to talk trash about cal, do you feel more secure now that you told cal students that you rejected their school? growing up is not easy. The learning curve can have a little sting to it.

I never "rejected" my offer. In fact, I sent a "thank you letter" in the place of the cold, unfeeling button. It probably went in the circular file, but hey...I tried to be generous.

Don't be a prat, kids. Just do these things with dignity.

UCLAri: That's the first "thank you" letter I've heard of for undergrad. Very classy.

Giants,

I avoid burning bridges whenever possible...

Why would anyone rather go to cal poly?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

First of all:
I'm sorry. You may not believe me but I actually am mature--i just got carried away.

I haven't told the whole story, but anyway--

So I thought that I was fully accepted when I read my acceptance, but then I realized two days later after I told people I was accepted that I was actually deferred.

Initially, i was just upset at the way Berkeley made me feel like I had been "fully accepted" when I actually wasn't. But finding out that I was kind of half-way accepted hurt becuase I got into a lot of other really good (and according to rankings), "better" schools.

So now that I've calmed down, I've come back down to earth and realized that Berkeley is affordable and there is no shame in attending beginning this next spring.

Again, I apologize. I WAS NOT THINKING when I wrote what I wrote, and thank goodness I didn't get any immediate accurate answers, or I probably would have hastily unaccepted the offer out of spite.

It's still one of my top choices. And I respect all those who felt what I said was offensive--because I realize that nearly all students have pride in their schools to some degree.

So I shrink into a defensive position and kind of wave a little white flag that says "sorry" and "go cal" on it.

You were mad because you got deferred?

Huh...:p
