What music do you listen to?

i listed to whatever sounds good... mostly pop and rap but every so often house or techno music too

Patrick Wolf, Final Fantasy [as in Owen Pallett], IAMX, The Libertines (and etc.), Larrikin Love, Joanna Newsom, Bloc Party, Andrew Bird, Crystal Castles, Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The Books, Bjork, Bat For Lashes, Bishi, New Young Pony Club, C.S.S, Bonde Do Role, Digitalism, Klaxons, and The Velvet Goldmine Soundtrack...

I am also an avid fan of cheesy British pop from the '90s, and older stuff like Kate Bush and The Smiths. And I could list more, but I shall spare you all! [Unless anyone here has a last.fm?]

I listen to so much stuff. Next to school, I'd say music is the most consistent thing in my life. I guess I'll try to give you a brief overview of bands I like.

AC/DC, Arctic Monkeys, Audioslave, Blink-182, BOC, Collective Soul, Daft Punk, DMB, Descendents, Depeche Mode, Foo Fighters, Green Day, The Hives, Jet, The Killers, Led Zeppelin, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mute Math, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Operation Ivy, Offspring, Pearl Jam, Queen, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, REM, Sigur Ros, Sister Hazel, Steve Miller, STP, Streetlight Manifesto, Sublime, The Strokes, Tool, U2, The Vines, The Who, Weezer, Wolfmother, the list goes on. That's just what I could think of while going through the alphabet. If I looked at my iPod, I'd have tons more to add.

i basically listen to everything except rap/hip-hop from the '00s. My favs, though, are probably queen, michael jackson, the temptations, nirvana, tupac, mcr, daft punk, green day, gorillaz, n*sync, whitney houston, the who, eurythmics, fob, babyface, arctic monkeys...and a bunch of others...

I recently rediscovered "Y Control" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
"Dirty Dishes" by Deer Tick is wonderful, too.

Mostly electronic music and rock/metal, and a little dabbling in other genres. A few representative artists/bands...

Electronic music: Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards of Canada, BT, Burial, Chicane, The Future Sound of London, Gridlock, Hybrid, Massive Attack, Murcof, Pendulum, Portishead, Shpongle, etc.

Heh heh. :p

Well, I listen to all sorts of music, but not very much of any one kind:

Rock: John Hiatt, John Van Deusen

Pop: Paul Simon, The Beatles, ABBA (in Spanish)

Dance: Basshunter (though I wouldn't say I really listen to it)

Country: Lyle Lovett (specifically Step Inside this House)

Classical (probably the only genre that I like in general): Vivaldi, Bach, Handel, Ravel, Rodrigo (when Scott Tennant plays Joaquin Rodrigo... wow... I love that stuff!)

Latin: Juanes, Shakira (only her old, Spanish-language stuff), Julieta Venegas

But I'm very particular about who I'm a fan of. After a four-year dry spell I've found a band that makes the cut. It's a German band... they are mostly unknown in America... but I love them so much... Tokio Hotel. :D:D I'm in love. I'll probably be posting in here about them, because I... I'm really excited about them... I can't contain myself! :D

I know there were at least a couple of posters who said they liked Regina Spektor. You might like Kate Nash, I just discovered her and can't get Foundations out of my head:
