<p>Im pretty broke right now but I want to take my girl somewhere special that's near Cal but not sure where, I dont want to spend too much. Could you please give me recommendations and say what there is to do. BTW what is Fisherman's Wharf, is it kind of like venice beach boardwalk?</p>
<p>The restaurants around Fisherman’s Wharf is expensive to eat at, so it’s just a bad idea.</p>
<p>The Wharf is boring, expensive, and only romantic at sunset. It’s nice to walk around, but that’s about it. </p>
<p>If you’re looking for a restaurant, Berkeley isn’t exactly great for cheap AND nice. I’d look around North Berkeley for that.</p>
<p>You guys could hike up the Big C at sunset, or take the bus to Tilden Park for two free activities.</p>
<p>Emeryville is really nice. Pretty street with a lot of shops, restaurants, and a movie theater. About a 20 min bus ride. I’d say go to PF Changs, but there’s a CPK and other cheaper options.</p>
<p>Fisherman’s Wharf is really touristy but awesome if you’ve never been before. Must get clam chowder from Boudin and then go up to Ghirardelli Square to get a sundae :)</p>
<p>Fisherman’s Wharf is way too crowded and noisy for you to even consider it as an option.</p>
