So I'm in the process of redoing my closet and am looking for new clothes to buy and need recommendations. I'm just looking for a good company that makes "normal" clothing. And by that I mean nothing preppy, baggy/oversized, sporty, gangster, etc. I just need some logo free polo shirts, long sleeves, maybe a pair of jeans, stuff like that. I also don't want anything ridiculously pricey, but it doesn't have to be dirt cheap either.

I was just at Old Navy today and they were having a great sale. Non logo solid polo shirts were $9.99. Striped/printed non logo polos were 2 for $30, but you had to buy two to get the sale price. Hope this helps.

Banana Republic sounds good so I'll check them out. I always thought they were only for rich kids, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for a sale. As for Old Navy, I totally forgot about that place. I remember my mom used to buy most of my clothes from there when I was in elementary school. I'll make sure to check them out, too. Any other suggestions?

Old Navy is good. Banana Republic is ridiculously expensive, and their on sale prices are just regular prices of other stores ($40 for a pair of jeans...).

My favorite place to buy clothes is Target. They have some good stuff there for good prices.

agreed with liist. those are good quality clothes (id question the durability of those from old navy/target, when i wore them they never lasted more than a season or, at most, a year) with little advertisement of the brand. if you want no logo polos, try j crew. ralph lauren and tommy hilfiger also have lots with no logo and theyll last you a lifetime, but theyre more expensive - although usually at department stores or online you can get them a lot cheaper than what they cost in the brand stores.

When I go to China, I like to buy lots of clothes and electronics.

The clothes that aren't bootlegs of American department store brands are pretty durable, and cheap. If you go to department stores where tourists don't flock, you can also get genuine brand name clothes for far less than what you buy here in America.

Every single clothing item in my closet comes from either costco or target (I think I have some old navy socks though); not exactly "clothing" companies, but they thrive at the height of normal-ness, so you might check them out?,

Go to Ross. They have plenty of brand names (logo and logo-less) for cheap. I think Marshall's is a similar store.

Either that or the clearance rack at an department store you can find. My personal favorite is Kohl's, because they always have something on clearance.

I've been to Costco before and they didn't seem to have a good variety at the time. I did, however, buy a pack of white undershirts made from Kirkland Signature. The quality was good but it was a little too tight and I just didn't like the feel of it.

I think I got my favorite pair of jeans from Marshall's (Chaps Denim), and the store is right next to Old Navy so I should give them a look. Has anyone else had problems with the durability of Old Navy clothes?

As for Ross, I kinda didn't like the place when I went. The place was just too huge and unorganized, it felt like a swap meet for unsold clothes from other department stores. I like to shop in a cleaner and quieter environment, even if it means I'll be paying a little bit more.

Also, when shopping at a place like Marshall's that sell a variety of brands, what are the particularly good brands? This is in terms of quality, durability, and style.

Has anyone else had problems with the durability of Old Navy clothes?

Yes. The tshirts always look terrible after the max of about 5 washes. They shrink upwards yet seem wide.
Don't know your age but if you're in the under 23 range, try the sale rack at American Eagle. For more traditional clothes--try Lands End (good website).

I don't get why a logo is such a big deal, but anyways try GAP (better quality version of Old Navy). And yes, the only thing I'll buy from Old Navy are jeans because everything else is of low quality (that's why the stuff is so cheap).

Get some tees that have some wise ass remarks, or maybe some college shirts.

I wear a lot of Nike and Adidas and I don't see anything wrong with that. Do you happen to wear nondescript sneakers because you don't want to advertise Nike?

Actually, I wear Adidas tennis shoes most of the time where the logo isn't seen well, but that's not my point. Shoes I can live with because it's almost impossible to wear good shoes these days without people recognizing what brand it is. I just dislike clothes which have its company name in huge letters right across the shirt and preppy clothes that have logos on it (for obvious reasons).

I don't consider AE too preppy. All the clothes are ridiculously comfortable, and I'm sure there are some that are either logo free or just have the signature eagle.
