I thought I was pretty set on my list of 10 or so schools, but I came across Maryland and UDel this week and became interested. I know very little about the schools. I'd like to know what they are like (atmosphere, town, student body, campus) and how they differ (if anybody happens to know). Also interested in merit money/scholarship availability.
For reference-I'm interested in Comm/Journalism/Media so I'd like to know if they are strong at all in these areas. Also, I've got a 95.5/100 W GPA and 1970 SAT (only taken once, and getting ACTs late today...).

Hey! I’m doing the same major and was accepted to both schools. Maryland’s journalism school is ranked in the top 10 in the nation, where as udel has just an average program. I have similar stats to you. With Maryland I do reccomend that you apply before their early action deadline, it gives you a much better chance of not just getting in to the university but the phillip merrill school of journalism as well. Both have very nice college towns, and great school spirit. If sports means anything to you Maryland is Division 1 and Udel is Division 1a or 1aa. If you have anyother questions about either school, just private message me. I have chosen to attend Maryland, I feel that in the field I want to go in to, it will give me the best chance to succeed. Like i said, dont hesitate to message me with any questions. I hope this helps a bit. Also udel kinda has the reputation of ‘the kids who were rejected from maryland go to udel’. but take that with a grain of salt. lol
