I started my college list and narrowed it down to 9 so I'm thinking of applying to this one not only is it in southern cali but its by the beach(I think or some water)...I live in the bay area so I probably can't visit soon. Are there a lot of people from norcal going there is no what's like compared to home. And is the student body equally diverse racially because my high school is almost but I like and kinda use to it..I don't think id feel comfortable if there was predominantly 1 race even if its my own. Thanks
And I'm a girl if that affects my experience b/c my bro is always trying to scare me with these stories of rape from certain colleges I was thinking of going to but I'm sure it could happen at any college.

I’m currently a freshman here at SDSU, and let me tell you… it is a GREAT school. You’ll love it here.

Let me address your concerns:

1) There is a lot of people here from NorCal; Bay Area included. You definitely won’t be the only one.

2) From what I’ve seen around the campus, the campus is really diverse. I always see people of different races around campus everyday. There is no one race that “dominates”.

3) About the rape…I’d say that would only happen if you go to parties and stuff. If you don’t party, you’ll be fine. Also, don’t be walking out late at night. I mean, it’s pretty quiet and safe at night, but there’s the occasional police report about someone getting robbed or someone getting beaten, but just don’t be walking out late at night, to be safe.

^^thanks I thought there was only 2 universities in San Diego…what’s the weather like I have curly hair and it gets frizzy depending on the weather. I don’t usually wear it curly but I plan to in college.

My son has been accepted to SDSU and UCSD…he can attend SDSU without debt…I’ll pay but if UCSD the difference is on him in student loans…what would you guys suggest? Major is Applied Mathematics/Science any comments are appreciated…
