What's next for Scholars semifinalists?

yeah. maybe they don't want to be in the office when it gets sent out so they don't get all of us calling saying "why don't i have a decision yet"
I'm betting we find out tomorrow or sunday. Cause if they do it when they are in the office they have to wait until tuesday since mondays a holiday. So hopefully they will get it out soon

Agreed. Of course, there's only 350 of us, as opposed to....something like thousands of applicants to each decision round.

I got my finalist acceptance in the mail this afternoon.

Good luck to everybody else.

Congratulations jmw123!!

congrats! what did the letter say/look like?

ahh you got it today?!? Congrats!!!!!!!

but now I'm nervous cause I live only 3hrs from Atlanta by car and didn't get anything :(

The letter is nothing particularly special - just a letter with a bunch of forms attached (med release, flight details, etc.). Starts with "Dear Justin: I am delighted to .... yadayada"

If you're looking for it in the mail, it's just a plain white 8.5x11ish envelope. (Sorry for ruining the surprise.)

And I finally got my Emory Early Decision I t-shirt! (It's too big but it comes in this ridiculously small package which still amazes me.)

Edit: BTW, I still have nothing on OPUS, email, or the extra Scholars Finalist conference on LL yet.

And does anybody know what amount and number of scholarships awarded at Finalist weekend? The package says 2/3s, full-tuition, full-ride, but I thought I remember reading all get at least full-tuition.

Congrats, JMW!

Where are you (statewise)

NC and haven't gotten anything yet!

Does anyone know if the consider midyear reports in their finalist decisions? I went to my counselor on monday and he wasn't sure if he sent them or not (didn't write down that he sent them, but didn't have the envelopes anymore) so we sent them out on monday.

GA, about 40 min southeast of ATL, but so far on facebook, I'm the only one even in GA that I've heard of receiving the information.

o ok...so I'm thinkin most other ppl in the Southeast should hear tomorrow or tuesday.

So, if JMW got his acceptance yesterday, they went out on Thursday. Didn't ANYONE else hear? No word here in TX. I am surprised as I got GTech's acknowledgement that I didn't make finalist in one day. Hopped a fast plane! I hope it comes today as there is no mail on Monday! Also, on Learnlink, it says notices will be up on opus on Wednesday.....

I got the finalist letter today; I live around seven to eight hours away from Atlanta. Good luck everyone!

I'm looking at learnlink right now. Someone had asked about notification, and someone replied that we would hear at the lastest by e-mail on wednesday.

So I got a huge envelope in the mail today, and I was so excited, then I realized it was another brouchure from Notre Dame lol

Is the office open on Monday? Maybe they'll send some stuff out then...oh well...I guess I'll hear on Tuesday.

Well Monday is a federal holiday, so no mail I think. And I'd imagine the office already sent out all the letters at once, not just a few at a time, so you're probably stuck waiting until Tuesday at the very least

Where at on learnlink did you read that ohioguy? Was it in the talk to 2012 classmates section?

It's in the "March Interview Weekend" section of "Scholar Candidates" (the last message).

I don't see that at all. Maybe it's because I'm EDI?

Is it under the connect2012 conference? Somebody mind walking me through step-by-step?

I'm an idiot...

"Scholar Candidates" is a separate conference from "Connect2012" and it's on my desktop on LL, along with Mailbox, Calendar, Contacts, etc.

ahhh I'm at work and my mom just brought me my finalist letter!!!!!! yayy! Can't wait to meet you guys in Atlanta! congrats everyone!
