What's the most "prestigious" AP class/exam when it comes to college admissions?

I thought calc wasn't that hard... but on the other hand, English lit/lang, and all the languages are definitely hard

As for prestigious... frankly I don't think colleges look at AP's that much.. do they?

there isnt a "prestigious" ap.
i was jus saying which AP's would be important for you to take and earn credit so that it'd benefit you.

yea what's with all this prestige factor everywhere ! X_X

Well, in terms of how many people at my school take the AP's...

-Over 70 people took AP Calc AB/BC this year.
- Six people took AP Spanish Lit.

So I'm going to put my vote in for AP Spanish Lit.

i agree with daytripper. such a hard class that I couldn't get into it with a B+ in AP Spanish lang

Foreign language exams are difficult...I didn't take one though :).
I think it's funny that some people find the English exams harder than Calc. BC. It just proves the wide range of thinking types that are out there. For me, personally, the English exams were refreshingly FUN, but I might as well have not shown up to the Calculus BC test.

ha..i'm just the opposite...aside from the mc, i don't think i got hardly any points on the english test today...calc bc yesterday was decent (fr were hard because we hadn't gone over the material yet)...when i took chem last year, i thought it was one of the easiest tests that i had taken in chem (easier than most of the tests we took in class)... i guess it just depends on the type of person you are and where your interests lie

I'd put my vote in for Physics C or French/Spanish Lit. These are the two tests that combine skills (for Physics C, calc & physics; for French/Spanish Lit, French/Spanish & literary analysis). I know that Physics C is quite hard (IMHO, decidedly harder than Calc BC or Chem). I'm not taking French Lit so I'm really just guessing there, but I would expect it to be pretty difficult.

Eng Lit.

the rest are noob.

ush had the lowest passing rate last year.

USH probably has a low passing rate because more people who aren't actually ready for it take it. Everyone has to take a U.S. History course, and many people just go straight for the AP. Who knows, though.

I thought English Lit was going to be nearly impossible. I expected a 3 or a 4, but somehow I ended up with a 5.

EVERYONE at my school takes AP Biology. It's the most popular AP test at my school.

I agree with simonster, it seems like students take ush because they need to, or whatever (last year's ush class: 30+ students, this year: < 10)... or that they misinterpret the essays.. completely.

The most popular AP at my school is government -- I think they have 3 full periods for it.

wow
ap us at my school has a really high passing rate- but then again, the social studies dept at my school is excellent

however, physics and bio have a 25-30% pass rate

AP Psych is the most popular at my school with 6 sections... That's 6 classes of 24 people.

Latin Virgil... My latin teacher claims to besting a 3 on it. (5th year latin, 4th year Greek student)

in my school its ap calc ab and bc. the teachers r unbelievable and insane b/c they prep the students up so much and use pressure and force to get the students well ready.

AP English's (Language which I've taken and Lit which is next year) seem not very difficult. The Language I found that I had fun with especially the mc.

For me, math is scary...

Calculus to me seems the most "prestigious", and I will be taking both AB and BC next year.

Statistically, by failure rate, it goes:
1. Physics C
2. Physics B
3. Chemistry

this might be kind of irrelevant but whatever

All really depends on how well you are prepared. There is just a lot of reading involved in the AP course.

And also, for example, If you are not doing so well in algebra 2 and you want to take AP Calculus BC, I recommend you think again.
