<p>I just got a UT Christmas card, but I withdrew my app a while ago lol. I guess it was a gesture for my parents, they fund a scholarship there.</p>
<p>A diploma, a couple of months (or so it seemed) after freshman orientation.</p>

<p>This isn't that weird, but two schools have sent me postcards in those anti-static bags you use to store sensitive electronic parts... I was slightly amused, but I wasn't interested in either. :(</p>

They said it was to hold together all the college papers I'm getting so that I don't just throw them in the trash. Or to "tie the family cat to the furniture"
Yeah, they actually said that in the letter...they have a very interesting sense of humor...I'm now reading every piece of mail from them just for sheer entertainment value.</p>
<p>Texas A&M's pitch letter for National Merit Semi-finalists included a brag sheet with stats which were a decade old and not very impressive. Their glossy handout was also a mix mash of themes that didn't make sense.</p>
<p>Anything that Rose Hulman has sent me...those pictures gave me nightmares.</p>

U Rochester sent me a viewbook with instructions to not depend on the book to ward off vampires, protect me from a nuclear attack, or serve as an emergency parachute, but encouraged me to draw a moustache on the book. It was funny but weird.</p>
<p>I have gotten a lot of Christmas cards from colleges by e-mail. They're nice, but kind of annoying. In Colorado's, you could make you own snowman.</p>

<p>University of Rochester sent me an envelope telling me what NOT to do with it, number one was use envelope to wipe my butt, number two was to use it to fight a bear, number three was to use it as a parachute...i laughed, sad but true, i laughed</p>

<p>I got a slinky from the Oklahoma State University School of Engineering :) my parents laughed when they saw the huge box in the mailbox</p>
<p>I got the CMU kilt, and some school sent my brother an air freshener (kinda insulting).</p>
<p>I also got a lot of mail from the Colorado School of Mines.</p>
<p>All of the University of Chicago stuff was bizarre. The journal things?</p>
