When did you guys become OBSESSED with college?

Since the beginning of my Junior year when I decided that I wanted the BEST.

On another note: There are two kinds of people in this world, those who react and those who plan. I'm a planner and chances are if you're reading this, so are you.

Denial...........does that mean we are starting a thread which constitutes a 12 step meeting????? Are you telling me I should be asking my inner self questions about whether CC is interferring with my regular life????

Junior year when I realized there was a way out.

Real obsession kicked in summer before senior year—boy was it hectic!

Probably after spending three summers at CTY... that really told me that I'd thrive with euphoria when it comes to campus life!

Also I truly want to learn & I heard that college is much more intellectual in nature than high school & well... CTY>High School, so I'm pretty sure College>High School.

Obsession became huge for college probably over the summer... for a while, I foolishly thought I was set to go to MIT, but I realize now that's almost as hard to get into as Harvard... sigh.

Also, I couldn't stand high school in 10th grade... but these days I'm actually enjoying it a little more.

hmm.. i was pretty boring - i started when i started going on a string of college visits end of junior year

tho i think the actual spark was when a guidance councellor that i knew gave some AMAZING presentations about the colllege admissions process.. they were funny, informative, and guy knew more trivia than should be legal (he was on who wants to be a millionaire recently).

Junior year, when I realized my future was in much closer proximity than previously believed.

elementary school, because my parents are Indian and my dad's been touting Harvard since I was three =]

approx. 6th grade. My middle school fed about half it's students into extremely competetive private high schools. I applied to several, but I moved to a place with some of the most casual educational policies ever (or at least compared to the six hours of hw per day in ms). The high school apps just morphed into college prep.

well my sisters were much older then me but i never was pressured to go to a top school: my sisters went to low-low tier(unheard of schools the only way someone might know there school is if a person went to the school that owned my sisters school) schools... I startedd looking at FOrdhams(now closing) Mary mount college-fordham u./Tarrytown in MS b/c of my middle sister...i fell in love maybe not so much w/ the academics but the campus!!

I became obsessed with colleges in 7th grade. I knew when I was in middle school that my high school grades would decide the rest of my life.

If high school determined the rest of my career, I would drop out and go join a nunnery in Tibet.

High school is a joke, and I hate it. That's why I have high hopes for college.

Probably second semester of my sophomore year.

Pretty much counting down the days until I can escape this hick town...

Yea it was sophomore year for me too, but mainly when I found this site. :p

It was a combination of visiting California and then finding this site.

When I got my first SAT scores back in March/April of 2005.

I kind of wish I hadn't found this site - cuz it's starting to make me obses over college! I'm only a sophomore, and I really just wanna enjoy high school, but now I'm realizing that the free space in my head is being taken up by college. Is there any cure?

Once you go CC, you're over with. You can no longer NOT think about college.

^^ i second that

junior year...i'm on the slower side.

Then there's no way out? I'm done for...

yea I realized that at the end of last year when I became hooked on lurking on this site. I finally got an account in August, figuring I may as well contribute to the site I frequented so often.
