When did you guys become OBSESSED with college?

tchaikovsky, I'm totally like you. I was talking about Harvard's greatness in 3rd and 4th grade. I've had my nose to the grind stone academically for what seems like forever. I was so ready to take to second semester senioritis, but then, not caring wouldn't me. Oy, I am so ready to leave high school and go to college! Is it almost June?

I know exactly when... it was when I got my sophomore PSAT results back, just last month. I'm not really even sure why though, since they weren't extremely good or extremely bad.

The Stanford-obsession is just getting worse by the day.

im particulary obsessed with colleges in NYC like Fordham, NYU and Columbia. Probably started around mid-sophmore year. I live in such a boring state, with no big cities and nothing to do. Only a couple more months till freedom in NYC!!!!

when did i get obsessed with college? yesterday! lol

CoolaTroopa, where did you go to CTY?

CC should be illegal for its addictive qualities...

I think I became obsessed with college after my counselor talked to us in 10th grade and then I bought the PR Best Colleges. I think I have read the whole book or skimmed at least 5 times. My first college visits to BC, Georgetown, and Penn sparked it even more (even though I applied to none of them!), and then I found CC...that was the moment my life became complete. lol

For me sometime after sending in college apps :(

It's CC.... It was the end of sophomore year and I was searching on colleges. It was just that CC urged me more and got me addicted. I think I may have done some Freshmen 15 type just sitting around everyday for months. Sorry I'm sad....

I became obsessed in the middle of sophomore year, when I realized I knew nothing about colleges in the United States (my parents went to school in Europe) and that if I didn't find out how things worked and what I needed to do I'd be, in a word, screwed. I still wish I'd found out earlier.

hazmat, you have over 4,000 posts, you are definitely obsessed!

middle of sophmore year, but its embarrassing that my grades/extracurricular activities don't reflect my obsession for college. :(

In the 8th grade, esp. when I was applying to magnet high schools. I was such a nerd back in the day (hahaha still am). This is why I went to Valley for the IB program!! Sadly, my high school life became boring as hell.

I never really "obsessed". I just did what I was supposed to through high school, didn't think about going to college, then decided to in the middle of junior year. Then, I went online to see which colleges fit me (in terms of finaid, environment, intellectual stimulation, etc.). Then, I just did my stuff (although, that senioritis made me depressed and lazy for a while :-P).

Hmm just a random thought. Wondering if college research could count as research ^_^. Maybe a school with like "college 101" club? Never really heard of one, but it would be awesome if there was.

dude same here... I REALIZE I SHOULD HAVE DONE SO MUCH BETTER IN SCHOOL AND SATS INSTEAD OF GOOFING OFF.. I AM SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL AND I JUST STARTED TO DO THIS... AND I SEEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WITH OVER 3.9 GPA AND 22OO SATS.... IF I DID COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL DURING MY FRESHMEN YEAR, I WOULD HAVE BEEN SO DETERMINED TO BETTER AND NOW I REALIZE THAT I SHOULD HAVE NEVER GOOFED IN HIGH SCHOOL... IF I ONLY GOT A SECOND CHANCE

1st spark: when i found out that your HS grades would affect your college life.
2nd spark: when i looked at the Stanford website
3rd and college-itis sickness attack: when i discovered CC.

it's just that i seriously thought that getting into colleges like Stanford was just a piece of cake and requiring only academics. when i found this site, it seriously gave me a rude awakening. now, sadly, i am officially obsessed.

After my mom told me it was ivy league or uni of md (my burning hatred for the state of maryland had already begun, luckily it was just a joke) Also when my dad started putting up his ivy banners on my bedroom walls. But the real passion didn't start until I found cc while looking at boarding schools in 7th grade.

"Also when my dad started putting up his ivy banners on my bedroom walls."

haha... I know how you feel. Look what my dad just bought me:
