<p>For those of you who have got the Alumni Scholarship, first of all congratulations! Have you received anything apart from the email congratulating you? What happens next? How do we get the actual award and a confirmation of other benefits?</p>

<p>Award recipients should have received a separate e-mail congratulating them and letting them know about an Alumni BBQ coming up in a few weeks. Certificates are to be awarded at the BBQ. </p>
<p>I saw a number of California locations on the e-mail. Not sure what’s going on with the OOS winners!</p>
<p>My D told me her friend at school (SCal) just had her in person interview on Sat. 5/03.</p>

<p>I live in san jose and just had my interview today. They said we would get an email on 5/23 about whether we’re getting the scholarship or not.</p>
<p>I got an email saying this:</p>
<p>Dear Newly-Admitted Cal Students and Parents,</p>
<p>It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the New Student Reception,
hosted by the student-run UC Berkeley Alumni Scholars Association. Held at
the end of May and beginning of June, these receptions will allow you to
meet and mingle with current Cal students and alumni while sampling some
of the delicious local Berkeley food brought especially for the picnic.</p>
<p>This event and all of the food is free for all admitted 2012 students and registered guests, and is provided for by the Alumni Scholars Association (ASA). We are a completely student run group of UC Berkeley undergrads involved in dozens of activities both on and off campus, and representing over 1000 of UC Berkeley’s strongest student leaders. We hope you will join us to learn more about UC Berkeley, ASA, and how you can be a part of our campus community.</p>

<p>I didn’t get anything confirming i’m a winner for the leadership award but does this email mean I’m winning something if i got invited to this picnic they’re holding???</p>
<p>Nope. I didn’t get the scholarship, but I got the email as well. Odd.</p>
<p>haven’t heard back about the scholarship (but i have a friend who was waitlisted -> accepted for it, so i’m assuming they just haven’t mailed out rejections yet for whatever reason), but i got that email as well. i just assumed that the email was just sent out to all enrolled prefrosh?</p>

<p>On the notifications, it is by area, certain areas got really bogged down on getting interviews done on time, due to allowing more people to interview this year. In some regions people may have heard who got it, who did not, who was an alternate, and even that they were bumped from alternate to awardee when some one above them did not submit an SIR</p>
