When does USC's RD decisions come out?

First of all, minnie did not post the housing page. Second of all, the housing site says invalid USC ID housing accounts will be deleted, which implies (and posts confirm) that they can, in fact, be created. Don’t make an account and pay a housing deposit until you’re accepted. My guess is that USC may have recently disabled housing registration or that the site is down along with USConnect again.

Third, bocelli is a ■■■■■. Trolly Trollerson.

“Dear USC,
How dare you allow me to find out that I wasn’t accepted because I used a backdoor glitch in the system that you were completely unaware of! What nerve! I will be suing for everything you are worth. My lawyers will be in touch. Good day to you sirs and madams!”

Something like that? ;)

Wait I can’t log into housing either, do we just use our USCID and USConnect password? I am FREAKING out

@IHeartCalifornia

it’s funny :D

Never mind guys just realized you had to register first… All my sanity is slowly going as i wait for this letter lol

Repeating: My guess is that USC may have recently disabled housing registration or that the site is down along with USConnect again. Housing registration has never been confirmed to indicate acceptance.

@MA they’re talking about everyones ability to register and get an account

bocelli,
Whoa. SC sites are either out, undergoing maintenance or are closed for the very reason you mentioned. SC has tried every way possible to close off domestic internet options in order that all applicants receive a response by U.S. Mail.

SC has stated in all their pamphlets, brochures and website that students would be informed by MAIL on or before April 1, 2011. They are dealing with 38,000 application forms as well as roughly 10,000 transfer application forms.

The admissions office is attempting to release notifications by mail so they will be received by April 1, if possible.

You will be informed by U.S. Mail soon. These “back door” methods are often incorrect.

This is probably a ■■■■■, but just in case posters should understand SC is trying to cut off all “back door” connections.

I received the acceptance package today, although I got the DHL email yesterday, so I already knew.

STATS

SAT: 2340 (superscored)
GPA: mid-90% unweighted
EC: pretty standard
Recs: Never saw them, but pretty sure they were really good
Essay and short answers: I thought they were good.

I should have applied in the scholarship round. Although my family will be able to pay for USC (I’m international), I don’t know if USC is worth paying 50k+ per year. Do you guys think USC’s reputation warrants going there?

Congratulations!!! You should post on the 2011 Stats Thread! :)

Which country are you from?

Thanks! I’m from Canada

@MA2011 - what school do you attend here in Dallas? My D is at a high school in Plano, as we are anxiously awaiting too!

So it begins - a friend 4 blocks away just got her packet - accepted USC communications - lives in Socal. I don’t know her stats. My mail doesn’t til 4!

Just received acceptance package in the mail. San Diego!

@Alamemom, since you are the most knowledgeable on the site. When I called financial aide a couple of weeks ago to make sure they got all the papers (had faxing issues) the rep said that they were back logged 7-8,000, so it would be impossible for him to know at that point for sure. He then asked me for my D social and said, “admissions has not made a decision yet, so you are not in a hurry, try and refax or even scan and then check back in a couple of weeks.” So today I called to recheck and the rep said, “yes we did get it, you are all set.” Does the “you are all set” seem to reference in your mind that she possibly got in? Because frankly I am thinking, if she did not, then it would be a moot point if they received our financial papers, right? Hence, why would he need to say “you are all set?” Yes I am going crazy like everyone else, in fact I am more than my daughter who has written them off because FSU accepted her, but not the film school, and in her eyes to get into USC’s School of Cinematic Arts is more prestigious, so she figures it is not happening.

Congratulations!!!

FUN day on the forum. The housing registration panic reminds me of the the “status frenzies” of years past…

Hoping to hear good news from all of you!

did you see my post to you right above?

Just got my acceptance package in the mail!!!.. does anyone know how they notify you about scholarships?? there is no notification in my package… does this mean i am not going to recieve any scholarships?

Hi ckinder!

The financial aid office really, REALLY doesn’t ever give indications of acceptance/rejection. The “you are all set” is in reference to them having received all of your financial aid paperwork. I try to keep reminding everyone of this because I don’t want any huge disappointments - it would be painful enough to receive a rejection, but even more painful to have announced to everyone, based on financial aid requests or statements, that you are sure you have been accepted and THEN receive the rejection. I have unfortunately seen it happen every year.

GOOD luck!!!

@ckinder I go to Plano schools too! Good luck to your daughter :)
