I live in Oakland so I’m just going to bart it to class, haha. I don’t care about the hill up, anything’s better than finding parking :)

Omg these comments about pedestrians are cracking me up at like 2 AM. I hate pedestrians in Berkeley – not looking forward to that aspect with bringing my car.

I’m parked by the shadiest Berkeley elementary school ever right now. If the school falls down, my car is probably going to be covered in asbestos :/

Anyone know where a good (cheap) storage place for cars is (considering that I will probably only use it about twice a month)?

who is in berkeley?

killmy: you should really just rent a private spot like I did. I don’t know about “storage” for cars lol…
and nero, I’m in Berkeley…in less than 24 hours. WOOTWOOT

Best thing to do for parking… drive around and look for orange construction cones! Jack them and put them in your favorite parking spot. You’d be amazed how long they’ll actually last before someone figures out they’re not supposed to be there. I heard of people using fake fire hydrants too :)

Well yeah I meant where I can rent a spot… I think the apt complex I’m going to be living at charges like $100+/month so I’m not really down for that.

I don’t really mind parking on the street but someone told me you can’t leave your car in one spot forever…?

There’s street sweeping days so you can’t leave it there indefinitely. I don’t know berkeley’s schedule but as long as you remember, you won’t rack up too many tickets.

I’m renting for like 70ish. And yeah I really don’t think there’s a place in the city of Berkeley where you can leave your car indefinitely for free haha

How many of you have already found places to live? Or are most of you heading for the dorms?

lol i meant for something less than 100… but the place I actually ended up renting is only 50 or 35 for street obvi.

Finding a room to rent in someone else’s place seems pretty easy from what I’ve noticed (cheapest option by far) or a 1 br isn’t too difficult (way more expensive) but I met with about 6 landlords today on 8 different properties and they said that all places go pretty quickly.

At least apts come with refrigerators unlike ALL of orange/LA counties. Anyone wanna buy a fridge from me? lol

less than 10 houuurrzzz rah rah ah ah ah ahhhhh :D

I’m so excited to hear how CalSO was for everyone who went today!

It was fun. My counselor Galvin was pretty chill and easy to talk to. See how the others felt.

Are the counselors professors or students?

i had a really good time! i also randomly met not one, but two CCers in my orientation group thing!!! hahahahaha i went ape **** when i found out their true identities :)

and yeah, i could type for a gazillion years and describe everything that went down but it’s not fun for you guys that way. just know that you need to wear comfy shoes, bring stuff to take notes with, and bring a backpack.

and datransfer, the “counselors” are just student orientation leaders. but they’re SO knowledgeable. and plus if you got lucky like i did your counselor person will be the same major as you!

get exxxcciiiitteddd guuuyysssssss!!

What time did you guys finish? Can we leave after the final meeting with the counselors?
Woa it sounds so fun. I can’t wait till mine next week xD

I left around 7pm after our dinner. Who did you have as your counselor redo?

yeah i left around 7:15 after dinner. i had Cameron!

****ttt I got there late… my counselor was Richard… fun dude… but I waited 9 hours to sign up for classes… I can see why people enjoyed CalSo but honestly I would have paid the fee just for them to email me the advisor code for telebears… lol…
