I dunno, CalSO made Berkeley a lot more inviting than people made it to be. It doesn’t come off as the cold overly large state school to me at least.

Ahhh I wish I had been a CALSO counselor. Seeing all of the Calso groups around campus makes me nostalgic.

Hope you guys all had/have a good time!

lmao… so I got put in the wrong group (not my fault I swear) and had to be driven across campus on the golf cart to meet up with my real group… I was like GREAT here we go looking like an idiot lol

Here is the 6/9 agenda for anyone who wants a preview of what their orientation might look like.

<a href=“CalSo Schedule.pdf - Google Drive”>CalSo Schedule.pdf - Google Drive;

I didn’t see anybody from here, but then I wouldn’t know who to look for. I was the (only) fat guy, pouring sweat, in a khaki Dickies shirt and shorts, with dark-rimmed glasses. Dear God I was tired afterwards.

It was fun, though, lots of information, still need to process.

^Were you in Keith’s group??

I was the asian dude with black-frame classes, tan shorts, bright blue shirt, black hoody, got there kind of late. Didn’t participate in much group things, just showed up when I needed to.

No, I was with Steven’s group. But I, too, basically did my own thing, at least for the periods after lunch. I had some specific questions for financial aid, so I went up to their office in Sproul.

Lol well my name is Erin for those who don’t know. So if you didn’t meet too many ppl at CalSO … I always like new friends I’ve heard that I’m a little bit intimidating in person… but really super social! so if anyone is interested in making friends, feel free to message me :)

why do you people say you’re intimidating…are you like 6 foot? do you have one of those faces where it looks like you’re mean mugging peeps 24/7, but in reality it’s just how your face is? LOLOL

Haha, i’m sure you’re not intimidating. Maybe it is the so cal vibe but you know what, us sun and beach folk need to stick together

I didn’t make too many friends at CalSO either but mainly it’s because I was in the engineering group and a lot of us are rather introverted. But there are some pretty cool folk I met and it’ll be fun to run into them again in fall. Except for this one dude who looked like he had a giant log up his ass…

lol nah. Being outright honest, I just don’t really seem like I would go to Cal. Stereotypically speaking, people are more inclined to label me as like a cosmetology student (no offense to anyone) or something.

haha, well until I see you walking around with a mannequin head around your arm on campus, I’ll bet you’re just like the rest of us :)

wooooohooooo glad to see more socal students on here haha, killmyentourage have you actually been to the campus yet? i felt the same way but i dig the unique factor of it. regardless though, you will meet a lot of like-minded people if you put in the effort to meet them as well. can we all just have a giant meet in the middle of sprouuuuul? hahaha

and seriously, i was surprised how many socal students i ran into up there. i did my best to ask as many students how they liked the campus and where they were from and stuff aaaaaand most the ones from socal had the same reasons for coming up to cal and were really cool with letting you know what’s up. i got along with them pretty well and, for the most part, all the students were like that… besides this chick who was halfway in conversation with me and halfway in daze because of finals. @_@

Yeah I was up there Tuesday through today. I did meet people but I’m a lot more outgoing than most of the people I came across… but I was saying that if anyone DIDN’T really get a chance to meet anyone, that they could be friends with me lol.

Haha, if you’re interested in going to the football games, I’ll be your cheering bud. But when USC comes to town, I change allegiances :)

reading all these posts makes me excited for CalSo on 6/15. Another “intimidating” (or so i’ve been told) SoCal girl :)

Anyone going this Wednesday?

I’ll be there wednesday =)

I was there 6/9

I had a blast. One of the longest days ever.

I am so excited to get up there and start school now.

people going to the next orientation: you guys should ask when housing assignments are going to be released… :)

my guess from last year is that it’ll be in about 2 weeks though. the site also says late june/early july but…maybe somebody there knows for sure?
