When should I take the SAT?

Hey there,

So I'm a rising senior and haven't taken the SAT yet. I took the ACT for the first time in June and got a horrible score, much to my dismay, because I really thought I was more suited for the ACT. Little did I know that the SAT is a much better test -- for me, anyway. I have been taking practice SAT tests in the Blue Book and average at around 2100, more or less, and I'm quite satisfied with that so I plan on taking the SAT.

Can I take it in October, November, and December?
I am considering applying ED/EA to a particular college, for which the deadline is November 1st. The rest have December/January deadlines.

I heard that I can take the November SAT and still apply ED, is that true?
Can I take the SAT during those 3 months? I really want a high score that truly reflects my abilities.

Thank you so much!

You can rush the scores but they are not guaranteed to get there in time. Study NOW for the October and you will be prepared.

For EA/ED, October would be your last safe bet. Some schools would also accept November scores. You are very late even for your first ACT taken in June. Work hard over the Summer and that would be your only chance. Once school resumed, you will have less time for test prep. In addition, you should be busy for school application and writing essays. It would be hard to get much further improvement afterward.
