I thought it was mid-January, but we have heard nothing.
I haven’t heard anything. The confirmation email I got said they would go out on the 22nd, but I haven’t gotten anything… sigh
Ours said the 22nd too. But haven’t heard a thing.
I haven’t gotten mine either and the confirmation that I got said “on or about” the 22nd. I toured about a week and a half ago and the admisons couselor said that they were expected to go out around the 25th. I would expect the decisions on Monday.
Does anyone know what criteria they base their scholarship decisions on?
@aellis639 it’s pretty vague on the website description. My son just got an email about 30 minutes ago notifying him of his scholarship award. It was less than we were hoping for, tbh.
@pep901 Considering that less than 10% of applicants get anything at all, y’all should be grateful.
@CamStrange are the award statistics that low? wow. my son’s girlfriend has a 28 on the ACT with a 4.7 GPA, and she didn’t get an email at all, which we are assuming means no award. my son had a 33 on the ACT with a 4.4 GPA, and got the Leadership Scholarship. We are thankful, but not sure its enough to make it affordable compared to UT Knoxville that awarded much more.
I got my email and was awarded absolutely nothing. I have a 28 ACT and 3.8 GPA. Guess I’ll be going somewhere else for college.

I found that kind of hidden away on their website. It has a little more information regarding criteria for scholarships.
My son also received an e-mail yesterday stating that he had been awarded the Leadership Scholarship ($2,000 per year).
@texasjayhawk yes, that’s what my son got. If you don’t mind me asking, what were his stats? My son had a 4.4 GPA, and a composite ACT of 33, with a superscore of 34.
Although he qualified to apply for fellowships, I’m guessing that if he only got the Leadership Scholarship, he won’t even be invited for a fellowship interview, but they don’t announce that until Feb. 15.
@pep901, My son also applied for fellowships. I saw in a 2012 article on the fellowships that they can be combined with other scholarships, so I am still holding out just a bit of hope for fellowship consideration , but only just a bit because he will not be at the top of that pool by any means. He also applied for scholarships through the Arkansas Alumni Association and we are waiting to hear from them. He has a 3.81 weighted GPA (16 or 17 AP/Pre-AP classes), 2060 SAT (1410 Math + CR), National Merit Commended Student, AP Scholar. I imagine for the Leadership Scholarship they also look at other factors, so I should mention that he is an Eagle Scout, part of our school’s senior-freshman mentoring program, 4-year member of a community service organization, on the basketball team and the country/western dance and stunt team, and has also worked a couple of jobs.
@texasjayhawk my son’s resume looks similar – except minus the national merit commended, and add varsity baseball and several mission trips. Go figure. He got 17K scholarship per year at Auburn, practically a full ride at UT Knoxville, and Spring Hill College. I was just a little disappointed in the Ark award – and it’s his top choice. Like you, I’m holding out a small hope that he makes the fellowship invite list but it seems unlikely.
Okay has anyone heard anything back?
