I need to think of one more elective class for senior year.

Planned classes:
- H Spanish IV (or AP Spanish if available - is it not a class this year)
- AP English Comp.
- AP Calculus AB
- H Physics (AP not offered)
- AP Gov't & Eco.

I need to think of one more elective for this year. I am considering these classes:
- AP Environmental Sci. (take 2 sciences)
- Latin I (take 2 languages)
- Leadership Skills II (class on leadership skills and speaking)

I have get A's in all my classes, and I expect to do well in these classes.

I don't know which class to choose. Does Duke look down on taking 2 languages (since it may seem random?) Which would impress Duke the most?

take whichever you have the most interest in...its obvious you are taking a rigorous courseload, so just take something you like. I got away with taking PE2 (basically just basketball everyday) and Marketing (vocational class where you get A for attendance) my senior year and still got in...as long as you are taking a fair share of APs and all honors/AP core classes you will be fine! If you take the hardest courses possible you can afford an easy class every now and then.

i think what would impress them is seeing a real interest in something, not just doing more stuff to impress them. take what you would enjoy most and succeed in as well. why would a school "look down" on 2 languages...?

One of my friends said some schools may think taking a different language senior year may seem too random. I was thinking of taking APES to boost GPA and because I do well in science, but leadership will be an easy A. lol

if you express interest in languages/travel/culture other than taking 2 languages than YES it would show interest and "help" a little. if you just took 2 language classes and did nothing else then no it wouldnt help really- itd jst be another class
