Which degree is valued more

I am a transfer student who entered Rutgers University from another state school in New Jersey (Kean) and going to be majoring in the business field. Lets say if you were a employer, which person would you look at more for the job, a person from Kean or Rutgers. I also noticed that Rutgers attracts more big-name companies like Morgan Stanley, CitiGroup ect. but KEan does not have those companies when they have carrer fairs

Rutgers, probably.

Not even close. Rutgers.

Rutgers, but those that are familiar with Kean know that the students there are not the wealthiest, but are serious students, and are there to get an education. Many people don't realize that Rutgers can mean NB, Newark, Camden campuses. I don't think that it is a cake walk to get into NB's business program for undergraduate studies. When I checked it out, there were not that many seats, and it seemed pretty tough to get in. As I understand it, many of the same professors at NB, also teach at Newark.

bump...bump

definately rutgers. any sort of bachelors degree from rutgers will be worth more than what you get a kean. it shouldn't matter what campus you go to - in the end your diploma simply says "rutgers university"

Any more comments.....

dont decide where to go based on pprestige

I agree with post #8, but it's always a plus to have gone to a school that a lot of people have at least HEARD of. And people across the country will generally know Rutgers, while few outside of New Jersey have ever heard of Kean.

I have ever heard of Kean.

it has nothing to do with prestige - rutgers isn't really prestigious. however, it is a degree that people outside of new jersey will at least know if you ever decided to move away.

hmm.. finally, the people who matter will know its worth...many normal people think none beond the ivies.. but emplotyers/grad schools will know better

bump................... Jas81, since i am a NJ student I would rather prefer to go to Rutgers rather then any other of the lesser name schools in the state

can you get into TCNJ? if so, TCNJ>Rutgers.

Karu,

let me put it another way, a Rutgers degree is infinitely more valuable than a Kean degree.

Frankie,

thats not true. TCNJ is a really good school - i completely agree witht hat. and if i had to choose between rutgers college and tcnj, i'd choose tcnj. however, a tcnj education isn't any better than a rutgers college degree.
