Among the Ivy League Schools + Stanford, which do you think are the best in the following categories individually?

Political Science:

International Relations:

History:

Humanities, in general:

Foreign Languages:

Visual Arts (Drawing/Painting):

Architecture:

Economics:

These are some of the fields I'm interested in, thus I wanted to get a good idea which schools are really top notch in certain fields. I know that they are all stellar, and you can get a great education at all of them, but which are the top best for undergraduate in these fields? Thanks.

No, I’m looking at other schools also. I have about 5 non ivy league schools I’m applying to including one state school. I wanted to apply to ivy leagues also though, and I wanted to know which ones were geared more towards my interest. I wanted to apply to 3-4 of them, not all, therefore I’m just trying to narrow it down.

I’m also looking at Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, University of Florida, Wellesley, RISD, etc.

Actually, I would say that it’s Harvard for economics and political science as well. Harvard has the #1 ranked political science department in the nation, and is tied with Princeton & Stanford for having the top economics department in the Ivy League/Stanford.

But, truth be told, the differences in quality among schools like that are so small that it hardly makes a difference, particularly at the undergraduate level for most incoming freshmen don’t really know what they want to do in their careers anyway. It’s probably more important to weigh other factors such as personal fit.

Economics: Harvard
Economics for Wall Street: Dartmouth
Humanities: Yale
Intnl Relations: Princeton
Languages: Dartmouth
Visual Arts: Brown where you can cross register at RISD
Poly Sci: Harvard

Political Science: Yale
International Relations: Princeton
History: toss up
Humanities, in general: Princeton
Foreign Languages: no idea
Visual Arts (Drawing/Painting): Yale
Architecture: Cornell
Economics: Harvard
Medicine: probably Harvard
Engineering: Cornell

yea i read in newsweek that the best instituion for liberal arts is Princeton. Princeton even beats out top LACs. Any top students who wants a really good Liberal Arts Education should aim for Princeton.
