Which state would you hate to live in the most?

Probably certain southern states (Alabama, Mississippi, etc…) as well as certain western states (Montana, Wyoming, Dakotas). Then again, I haven’t been around most of the country, so…

And the TC revealed the very problem with this topic. The state of New York is mostly quiet and rural with the exception of a few cities. Even then, those cities aren’t necessarily “polluted” and “too busy”.

The obvious choice is Alaska

Africa
South America
Mexico
Florida
South Carolina
New York, especially Harlem
South Dakota
Texas

No I’m not racist but those are known gang places and I’d like to avoid them at all costs.

I sense lots of hate for New Jersey lol.

Lots of you probably see Jersey Shore or drive outside of NYC into Newark and the neighboring sh**hole cities or Camden which is outside of Philadelphia, but the rest is really nice. I was born and raised here (and going to college too!). Once you step outside of the major cities it’s a very nice and wealthy place. It’s not the best state, but certainly not the worst :)

In my experience, Delaware is MUCH more the armpit of this country :stuck_out_tongue:
And Pennsylvania drivers don’t know how to drive.

Wyoming, Montana.

@godzilla, since when are half of those states? is there some new amendment that nobody knows about?

@Islander4, I couldn’t agree with you more. I’m from a small, quiet town in NY. NYC is one small polluted, crowded, piece of NYS but NYS is mostly country, rural, and quiet.

@elbeen
Obvious places no one would like to live in:
Africa
South America

Florida - I fear Hurricanes/earthquakes etc
South Carolina - Gang activity
New York, especially Harlem - Gang activity
South Dakota - Gang activity
Texas - Earthquakes lol

Maybe I watch too much stuff on the History channel. When it comes to gangs, a majority of them get busted in those areas and new ones are created. I live in the Northeast and I am more than happy. Lots of places to go, normally colder, and near the ocean. In case something happens I have an escape route.

Godzilla, I was just joshing you because the thread name refers to “state[s]” and you listed countries but I understood what you were saying =p

However, there are millions of people who would like to live in African and South American…particularly all the people who already live there? Lol. There’s violence everywhere, and I concur that it might be escalated in certain locations on each of the aforementioned continents but they have beautiful aspects as well.

Actually, I really want to visit Africa someday. One of my friends always wanted to go there because she wanted to study the wildlife—> Same here.

Outside of the state discussion: I’d hate to live in Africa but it’s a beautiful place to visit. The locals are unbelievably kind and the state of affairs there quickly endears you to the natives unaffiliated with the ****-poor government

Statewise- Arizona or South Carolina

North Dakota

Do not want to live in the middle east coast, including Mass, Conn, Penn, Jersey, Maryland, and throw in Virginia and the Carolinas for that matter. Deep south probably also wouldn’t be cool.

But I would want to live in either a major city or rural area. No suburban crap. So places like the mid-south, midwest, and the WEST! Man if you slice out the part of California from San Diego up north to South San Francisco then east to Sacramento you have yourself a pretty good region imo. I love nature, so at some point I want to live in the backcountry or have a ranch or something.

if i have to pick one then alaska, way to isolated
i wouldnt wanna live anywhere to isolated, so north dakota, wyoming, idaho, montana, and other states like those ones.

Montana. Big and empty.

I live in Kansas and I honestly love this area. It’s probably not what one would picture about Kansas though.

^ When I picture Kanas I picture the spaces where houses used to be before twisters hit them.

Montana is a lot prettier than Kansas imo…

I laugh at anyone that hates NJ. We are the California of the East. We are diverse, we are intelligent (school standards wise), AND we are wealthy. Like someone else said, alot of NJ is very boring. Bergen County more than makes up for that. The whole county is just a tremendous concentration of wealth, and business. Paramus, 07652, a single town has retail sales around $5 billion dollars per year. Far more than any town in America.

People really need to experience NJ first hand (not just watch Jersey Shore) before commenting on it.

I would like to add that THERE IS NO RECESSION in bergen county. Sales are holding steady. NYC provides jobs, and real estate security. My house is only down 5% in value.

I’d like to end with agreeing that shallow people live in NJ. We take our lifestyles for granted.

States I would hate to live in: Alaska, Oregon, NV, Utah, AZ, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kentucky, TN, etc.

States that I wouldn’t mind living in: NJ, NY, CT (TRI-STATE AREA FTW) CA, FL, TX, MA, Pennsylvania…

Alaska because it’s too cold. On the upside, Track Palin might still be up there with his crazy mama.

I’ve lived in KS my entire life and never seen a tornado.
