Hey! So yesterday I attended UCSB’s Chancellor Reception where I was informed that I have been admitted for fall 2016! I’m super excited because UCSB is one of my top choice schools but I don’t really know anything about their dorms or student life within the different dorms. So if anyone has anything that could help me in knowing about the residence halls and dorm life at UCSB, feel free to chime in! Current students preferred but alumni are welcome too
Im a 2nd year at ucsb. You should look into anacapa, santa rosa, santa cruz (the 3 shorties) because they are inside the campus(you get to experience the whole campus) and lecture halls are really close if you live in one of these. Also, the best dining hall(DLG) is like 2 minute walking distance. These are usually triple living tho but im not sure if they still are this upcoming year cuz they changed the rules about residence hall this year. ID recommend these 3 cuz of above reasons. San nic and san miguel are also right next to these residence halls. Dorm life is awesome cuz you get to meet a lot of people if you are a outgoing or a little outgoing. I met my best friends freshmen year at our dorm. At Santa rosa, theres a lounge where theres TV, ping pong table, billabord, vending machine, volleyball court, and basketball court. Its awesome!!
I just recently withdrew from UCSB lol…anyways, I was at Santa Cruz and I gotta say it’s the nicest hall out of the 3 shorties due to it’s recent renovations. It’s going to be all triples next year again so look into that. The shorties are nice because they’re on campus, close to DLG, and the library. Oh, and THE BEACH!
