Any thoughts on the Whitman Finance undergraduate program? Dual program with Newhouse?

DD is a dual at Whitman and Newhouse.Iit is a great program. There is a minimum of 151 credits required for the dual major. It does help to have AP/IB/CLEP credit. The program is doable in 4 years. DD is doing quite well and absolutely loves Cuse! She has very strong quant skills to go along with strong writing skills. Good quantitative skills will serve you well at Whitman and as a finance major. I believe job placement is strong for both Whitman and Newhouse.
Syracuse is a terrific school.
Good luck to you.

@funfatdaddy What majors is she pursuing in each school?
@turtleneck7…Right now my daughter is undecided on her Newhouse major and thinking about retail management at Whitman. The beauty of Newhouse and Whitman is that you can be undecided at both schools and decide later. It is very easy to change majors once admitted to a specific school. She will need to decide by the spring of next year if she does not want to take any wasted credits. DD had a lot of AP credits coming in and will be junior after her first full year.
The dual does have 151 credits, so she will comfortably finish in 4 years with two of those years having senior status. My daughter loves Syracuse and the dual program! It seems like a lot of Cuse’s top students are double majors with a minor, triple majors, single majors with multiple minors, etc. My daughter is looking to minor in addition to the dual major. Young adults with multiple and varied interests seem to thrive here. Good luck with your decision.
