I just found out that it's due 30th and there is $75 fine if they are late....
for those who did them, does my physician just have to write things? or do I have to get like bunch of shots and tested?? Is it possible to do it in a day?

I'm going to the post office to mail mine in about 30 minutes.

Most of it she just has to write it dowm, as in , she just has to write down the dates when you were vaccinated. If you were fully vaccinated that is. I'm missing a few shots, namely MMR and Meningoccocal Vaccine, cuz they're not available in Romania. I'll tell them that I will try to complete them in Romania, but most probably I will get these vaccines when i arrive in the U.S. If you already have all the vaccines then it shouldn't be a probleme to have it all done in one day.

However they require a PPD test for tuberculosis, which takes 72 hours. They give you a shot and then measure an induration, a red spot on the skin, 72 hours later. You can skip this if you had a BCG vaccine in the last 2 years. I didn't have it so I took the PPD test 3 days ago and the doctor read my results today.

You can also take a Mantoux test, whatever that is. Maybe that will not take 72 hours, but I don't know. In Romania there is only the PPD test.

So, if you had a BCG vaccine in the last years then you won't need a PPD test. Otherwise i don't think there is any way of completing it in one day. So hurry up and good luck!

Yes, you may need a new PPD test if you haven't had one within the last 5 years, I think. Everything else can be completed in one day, but the physician probably won't be willing to fill out the form while you wait; it's somewhat expansive. If all else fails, USPS does 2 day shipping for like 5 bucks. It's better than $75...

Revan Manteaux test = PPD test.
And the induration is not a red spot, its the lump. The red spot is the erythema which youre not meant to measure.

I don't have to send in my X Ray plate if I tested negative in the Manteaux test right? And I took all the vaccines in about three days hehe - my immunization records were woefully incomplete - and i made a huge fuss in the clinic -everyone was staring :p And I DHLed the form on Monday without being badgered by mymom...I'm so proud of myself :D

Is the optional dental scheme worthwhile? Dental healthcare is dirt cheap where I live. Is it prohibitively expensive in the US?

Yeah, I ran to get 3 shots taken today. It sucked, haha. But yeah, according to the health document, you only pay $75 if your record is incomplete as of Aug 30. That was a big relief, heh. But still, I'm going in for the results of my TB test on Monday and sending that sucker off. Today was a semi-stressful day, needless to say ;)

Oooh, I had to get 3 of my shots about a week ago, too. Not fun. Luckily, my last job required me to get my TB Test done, so I already had that done. I'm not getting the Princeton health insurance as I already have coverage for (ahem) a fraction of the price.

BTW, does University Health Services dispense prescription medication when we need it? And where is the nearest pharmacy?

aren't the forms due this thursday? (30 June)?

yea, and luckily this time, no one's on time! (doesnt make me look like a careless mess!! :) )

lol adi! :) I guess we're all in the same boat, and phil is right about the $75 fine... it's only if they're STILL incomplete by August 30. :D

For the Student Health Plan papers - are we supposed to fill out each sheet individually or just the top sheet????

Oops... I just scheduled my physical... July 25th. Eeep.

Pretty sure I haven't gotten ANY of my forms in on time. They are so going to kick me out.

Haha, me too, prettyfish! I think I may have turned the first one in on time, but I'm pretty sure the rest got there late. It's not even school yet and I'm procrastinating. Oy vey...

Just the top sheet gia but you have to press the pen hard since the other two are carbon copies :p

by what date do you have to give this carbon copy form????

june 30

thanks for the tip such :p

what??????, i saw the form for the first time!!!, hell, i'll have to hurry up now!

tsk tsk tsk how come you didn't see it? Or was I the only one who drooled over the matriculation forms? :o I'm sooooo pathetic :o
