What college told you that we may hear back as early at Nov. 17th? that's so soon. And I heard that your file isn't complete until you send in the midterm grades, and they don't look at incomplete files, so try to get it in soon.

I just checked my financial aid to do list and "Transfer transcript" is now listed there. It wasn't there before. Does anyone else have this on their list/know what it is?

yeah, I have the "transfer transcript" thing as well. I don't know what it's about though.

I'm all green now, but my app is not under review yet. Did you guys have to wait after everything was submitted for your application to go under review?

Yeah, mine was complete for a while before it was sent to review. It's all pretty random though, so I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.

DarkStar, I wouldn't worry about it. I have all my financial aid stuff missing, and when I called the lady told me not to worry, they haven't even started to look at that. My transcript is listed on there as well. CAS told me about the Nov. 17th thing, but I think they just meant that that's when they'll start looking at the apps....so yeah, I don't know, I'm just freaking out about the midterm thing, but luckily they gave a fax number, so I plan on faxing it to them on monday :(

Thanks Darkstar.

BTW, do you guys know if the financial aid application is seperate from the regular application? i.e. if the financial aid application is not complete, will they not look at the regular application?

Yeah, it's separate, you don't have to apply for FinAid. I think they only look at the FinAid if you're accepted and then they send you your finaid packet a couple of weeks after you find out.

I got an envelope from Cornell today! I was so excited, but it was just a letter and a packet telling me that I still had time to apply for financial aid..Oh well..Hopefully the decisions come soon.

I watched a couple of Cornell hockey games on TV this weekend... made me want to get in even more.

I got an email saying parts of my app are missing (the recs). I had both sent weeks ago, the first was sent at least a month ago. Gonna have to call tomorrow but this really sucks. I just have a hard time believing that neither one made it. If they can't find them I'll have to get them faxed.

Yeah man, definitely call. Chances are the email was generated by the computer system, and I would bet that once you call and talk to someone, they'll find the recs and put them in your folder.

It seems that most people applying for spring transfer are male, at least on this board. That's strange/interesting.

I called and the lady said everything was already in the file (both recs plus midterm grades-I already knew the rest was), so she went ahead and updated the computer to say it was complete and it should be sent to the admissions committee tomorrow. I am just glad that is done now and that it wasn't actually missing.

gaah, I am faxing my midterm report tomorrow and I just hope that it doesn't hurt me that I'm sending it tihs late. :( My stupid philosophy professor wouldn't sign it for the longest time, it made me angry and sad all at the same time, haha. :(

Btw, I still don't get this rolling admissions thing they're talking about. I have called them a bunch of times and they tell me a different thing every time.

Last time I called they told me that they look at the apps in the order they came in....but yeah, I don't get it.

That sounds about right. They keep all the files, and as soon as one is complete, they forward it to the respective college's admissions office. How each college goes about reviewing them is hard to know, but presumably, the faster your app is complete, the sooner you'll hear back.

Sorry to jump in. I was wondering if you know if the status of acceptance/rejection will show on the website. My daughter has applied as a spring transfer and she's fairly relaxed while I'm the one who is impatient!

Just wondering if that online status page will eventually show more than a completed application...

TIA!

I think it will....because that's what it says on the main page. But at the same time, I don't know if that's how we'll find out.

The weird/confusing thing with my app was that it said that they had forwarded to admissions for review around two weeks ago, 'cos I had everything done by nov 1, the only thing missing was the midterm grades. But yeah. We'll see I guess. I hope they review fast/don't have too many applicants...from what I've read on this form it doesn't sound like there are too many CAS applicants, but I think I might be wrong...lol, well now I'm no longer freaking out, so good luck everyone! :)

I've heard differing reports about whether or not the status page will show accept/reject..supposedly, the status page will show accept/reject a few days before the letters goes out (but I've also heard that sometimes it isn't updated until after the letter is sent out). Anyone else out there apply to Cornell, spring transfer?

I wish the decisions would come out already! I'm also impatient..

When the decision comes, there will be a red link at the top of the page that says "Check your decision." Once you click it you'll either see a picture banner of some faces at Cornell with a big Congratulations... or you'll get about a paragraph of black text saying "sorry, but blah blah."

I've had multiple dreams about seeing that picture...

Spartan...I'm pretty sure we're all applying as spring transfers, 'cos that's the name of the thread, haha...

DarkStar does that actually happen or is it a dream :p

Last year when I got rejected as a frosh, it was like this gross red box with the text in it... :(
