Does anyone elses' financial aid status still say that they are missing something? Like mine still says that I am missing CSS, FAFSA and a transcript. OR should I not worry about it, 'cos they look at financial aid stuff only if you're accepted?

Don't worry about it man. That other checklist doesn't update. As far as I can tell it's simply a to-do list, but it doesn't update upon receipt of Financial Aid documents.

Wow, I feel the anticipation rising. I doubt it's coming next week. I'm going to guess that the first week of December will be when the first results come in, and Dec. 11th will be the backstop, where the last results are reported.

Yeah, I doubt it's going to be next week. I'm guessing the backstop will be the 3rd week of December. Some will come out the first week of December, and the majority the 2nd week.

I CAN'T WAIT ANYMORE! I want to know..everything is currently on hold. I wish I can fast-forward to Dec.11th.

I feel so stupid. I found a typo in one of my essays. I read them over 300 times and I just realized that I wrote "is" instead of "it" in one of essays.

I totally feel ya!!! Lol, but I am pretty sure I won't get in, as in 99.9% hahaha, since I'm prolly the only person with a 3.2 that applied. But I just realllllllllllllllllllllly want to know, lol

and what do you mean everything is currently on hold?

Yeah, I've been very preoccupied with this also. I found out that HumEc is just going to start going through materials this week and they expect decisions to be released towards the end of December, and possibly into January.

That definitely doesn't help ease my anxiety.

Did anyone do anything really creative with their essays? I decided to just play it straight and try to tell my story as best as I could. Mine ended up being really long.

um, I wouldn't consider my essays creative, I was kinda like you DarkStar, I just told my story, and I really meant every word I wrote, so I hope that shows through. Mine weren't too long, but they were honest. Did you guys do the quotes one? I forgot for which esssay that prompt was, but what I did was, I used my two favorite quotes to show my flaws and how they are exciting? lol

and for the common app I came across a speech by a cornell prof give in like the 1800s, and I used that to show how I admired cornell...etc. Seriously though, if I get in by some miracle it's gotta be cos of my essays and my recs, there's no other reason why I should be there. lol

oh, and as to the decisions the only reason I'm sort of ****ed is cos my school will charge me a huge fee for housing if I don't cancell it by the deadline...which is dec 5...aka crap lol

p.s. does anyone else randomly call admissions to waste time/harass them and see if they can give any insight to their app? or am I the only weirdo

P.S. I don't like the censoring that CC does, it's stupid.

Travelbook, have you called Cornell and told them about the deadline? I remember last year that Cornell was very accommodating and called the people who had deadlines and told them their decision early.

Also, your quote essay sounds like it would be very good.

I liked my essays but I'm just worried that they are too long. I decided to take the risk because I figured that there would not be many people applying for spring transfer so they would not get as annoyed. Each of my essays are pushing 1000.

no, I haven't done that DarkStar, but thanks for the suggestoin!!! I am so doing that tomorrow!! How much is a 1000 in terms of pages? wait...now that I think about it for one thing they said between 300 and 700, so, I don't think yours is that long. And you're right a lot less people apply for spring transfer so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I don't see what's wrong with reading 300 more words.

"Intense intellectual storms occur inside my head as I try to explain my everlasting thirst for acquiring knowledge. Distant memories from my childhood flush into the temporal lobe of my brain. An epiphany has occurred; I now realize the importance of knowledge in my life. I remember overburdening my father with the continued questioning of everything around me."

I used this quote:

"Greatness is more than potential. It is the execution of that potential. Beyond the raw talent. You need the appropriate training. You need the discipline. You need the inspiration. You need the drive."

:P..that's all you get

Travelbook:

By "everything on hold", I mean I really don't care about anything else right now.

Darkstar, are the decisions coming out in the end of December/January only for HumEc? Spartan called the office and they told him we should know by the 11th.

When the decisions arrive is entirely dependent on the individual colleges. I was told end of December/possibly January for HumEc. I don't know how that relates to the other colleges.
