Who's applying for Spring transfer 09'-Cornell

Someone already called and they told him Dec. 11th.

zakaquel, I hope what you wrote is not cheesy, 'cos then mine would be cheesy too. Lol, I wrote about "knowledge" as well....hahaha, actually I wrote about how failing is exciting. On second thoughts, maybe I shouldn't have written that, but yeah, I was like yey knowledge and learning!

I'm gonna call right now. Cos it's better than doing my essay for class hahaha

What are you going to say? Keep us posted to their remarks!

My biggest concern as of late if whether Cornell is going to want to accept transfers who need fin aid this year. I know that they're technically need-blind, but you never really know.

Also, I heard that the contract colleges are not looking to enroll as many NYS residents because they pay less and the state is giving less.

Both of those factors hurt me. I just want to know and get it over with at this point.

DarkStar, I really do not think you should worry about them finding out you need fin aid unless you did the paper app and checked the fin aid box. If you did it online, it did not even have a place to say you need fin aid, so there is no way for them to find out (unless they called the fin aid office which I highly, highly doubt).

However, the NYS resident thing with the contract colleges may be a valid concern.

Anyone heard anything yet?! Anything different on the website?! Any phone calls to the admissions office? Thanks guys.

Haha I want to call the admissions office again, but I think I'll wait a little while..I was able to talk to the assistant dean of transfer admissions (I think that was her title?), and when I mentioned I had deposits to put down, she said, "I understand, I can see your application here from Michigan State, but I really don't want to rush the admission committee, I'm sorry". So..

Did you give her your name? Did she say she would check your application status, and then she said, "I understand, I can see your application here from Michigan State, but I really don't want to rush the admission committee, I'm sorry."? Because if she even bothered to "check," it would mean that some decisions have been made, otherwise there would be no point in checking in the first place.

Why am I wasting my time analyzing this? Because I'm on break and so incredibly bored. All I can think about is this decision!

Wohoooo! Thanksgiving BREAK!

Hopingfor: It's only a couple more days dude. I have been checking self service every morning/evening...haha..nothing seems to change. I get really nervous when I click on the "application status" tab. It could be anything from "Congrats we want you!" to "Go the hell away. We don't need you at Cornell".

16 more days til Dec. 11

Yes I gave her my name and she did check my application status. I'm not sure that means that some decisions have been made..maybe she didn't know if decisions had been made yet either?

I'm with you guys as I'm really anxious as well. Break gives us too much time to think about the decision!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody

haha I think HopingFor really started to seriously analyze spartan's situation. :p
why is it taking them so long darn it! They should have been done by now...I wish...lol. I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving!

Surprisingly enough I am not constantly thinking about Cornell, cos I have so much friggen homework it's ridiculous. :(

I noticed that NYU, which had a similar application due date (Nov. 1st, I think), is mailing decisions.

Now, I know each school has their own process, but I won't be surprised to see the first couple of decisions this week. And if acceptance has anything to do with it, the earliest mailings are usually the accepted ones.

Come on Cornell!

I wish everyone the best going into these next two weeks.

HopingFor:

It'll be great if the first decisions come out by next week.

Let's hope that the decisions will also be found on self-service. I hate snail-mail.

If anyone gets an offer or rejection :(, please post back ASAP.

BTW,

Does anyone know about a thread for previous cornell applicants? I remember seeing one where you could actually see the applicants' stats and the decisions. I can't seem to find it....

Stats profiles on the left sidebar might be what you're talking about, but it isn't directed towards transfers. It's for High School students I think.

wwwwwwoooow

damn I want to know!

don't worry everyone I am not afraid of telling you I was rejected. They did it once, and I didn't care, why not do it a second time. lol

Travelbook, what is your major?

hi, i'm from the nyu 2009 thread and i just wanted to say i feel your pain. even though we applied to different schools, i think we are under the same stress!

the waiting is horrible isn't!

good luck you guys! i hope you all get in!
