I'm applying to transfer into the ILR program and spoke with their transfer counselor today. He had told me in late october/early november that they try to call students as soon as they can.. so I called today because I have a few deposits that will be due soon at other schools and he told me that ILR is hoping to get some decisions out at the end of this week. ..then again its a smaller school (i think) so they might be able to move a little quicker.

dewdrop, you're right when it comes to the net id. My boyfriend who is a student there told me the same thing. my netid is 27, which means I'm the 27th person in cornell with that id.

hmmm, I wonder how many people have applied to CAS....

I'm from Detroit, MI(originally from Ontario, Canada). Actually, one of the reasons I would like to attend Cornell is because of its diversity.

My netID thingy ends with a "3"

Ah I was hoping we'd be able to hear before the 11th, but it sounds like when they told me "you should hear something by the 11th", they meant that we won't hear anything before the 11th. The last day of school here is the 12th (last day of finals), so I hope I hear before then..I've lived in Virginia my whole life, but I go to school here in Michigan (East Lansing). BTW, my ID ends with 54.

Speaking of NetIDs... I don't really like the email system Cornell uses. It's kind of slow and clunky. Oh well, it'll be a small price to pay if I get in.

That's why I forward the Cornell e-mail to my gmail address...when then forwards to my Apple Mail desktop client

Yeah, that works too.

I wonder if they compare us to this year's ED applicants. Since there are so few of us, it seems plausible that they would look at how we match up to the ED people and see if it's "worth" taking us. They could always use fall transfers to maintain there transfer numbers/diversity.

oh jeez. lol, I sure hope not. :(

So, are any of you guys applying to any other schools? What is/are your top choice(s)?

For me, it's only Cornell.

Yep, same here. I was gonna do Amherst for this spring, but finishing the app ended up falling by the wayside. Still, ya know, it's either Cornell or another semester away from mathematics while still attending San Diego City College. It's not all bad, but there's just waaaay too much to miss out on if I don't make it in...

Cornell is also my top choice.

If I don't get in, I plan on trying to transfer again for the fall, but I'll also be applying to Smith college, and Amherst (I've taken classes here with decent grades, so I hope that works :) and maybe BU

cornell, bucknell, william & mary, bentley, loyola, tcnj.. figured i was bound to get into a few of them.. cornell is definitely the top choice though.

Cornell is my top choice too but I applied to the University of Florida and Syracuse as well. Two weeks ago I was accepted to Florida and yesterday I was accepted to Syracuse.

Also,if there is anyone whose self service application still indicates that Cornell has not received all of your financial aid paperwork I would call or email the financial aid office. Maybe it was because I submitted all of my paperwork in late July/early August, but I had to resubmitted some of the materials. They were very helpful in ensuring that they had all of my paperwork. The only thing you do not need to worry about is the transfer transcripts.

Just cornell for me.

Just Cornell for me too. If I don't get in, I'll probably apply to a bunch of other schools for fall.

People!!!

the self service has slightly changed!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no decisions, but it's kind of exciting! go check!

ok, so I just called them 'cos of that to ask. And the admissions lady told me that transfer decisions are made on a rolling bases starting december...so we may in fact not hear on the 11th, it maybe before that, but most likely after. :(

Yeah, it seems that we are mostly looked at after ED candidates. My prediction... the 19th.

I'm sure it depends on the particular college also. Some of the smaller schools could be sooner since they would have less, but who knows. I can hardly wait anymore; it doesn't make a ton of sense that they read out apps after ED apps since they won't be attending until next august, but we have to be there on jan 13. That and how few transfer apps they get in the spring compared to ED.

lol...I had a dream yesterday: I was rejected on Dec. 5th.

haha..let's hope that's not going to happen.
