I have a feeling that Financial Aid doesn't get updated. Don't worry about that one!

Dec. 1st!

Yeah I agree, I wouldn't worry about the financial aid.

I bet at least a couple of us are going to hear back this week, fingers crossed! I think AEM (or maybe CALS as a whole?) has been hearing back first in the past, we'll see I guess.

Yeah, I wasn't terribly worried. I was just double checking.
So, I was walking back from class and I decided to call admissions and ask them for an estimate of when we'll start hearing back.
First of all, they transferred me a good five times....then the lady checked my app, I had submitted it on Oct 31, and then it was forwarded to admissions on Nov, 6....November 6th is a long time ago, I want to know their decision damn it! Lol. And then she told me that I'll hear back in December....it was very insightful.....

so this was my update for the day. lol, anyone have anything interesting?

lol, my only update is that it started snowing in Chicago... At least we're in December already.

Travelbook,
That's thoroughly disappointing.

When are your decisions due again?

Best of luck to everybody here! This is going to be me in a few months =] (applying for Fall '09 transfer)

By December 11th.

HopingFor, I hate correcting you, 'cos I don't want to admit it myself, but a while ago when I talked to admissions...they told me starting around Dec 11, as in we'll start to hear after that. I hope that's wrong though, I really do. :(

Where is everybody from? I'm a resident of Ithaca, NY

I'm from Boston, Massachusetts. :)

Travelbook,

Thanks for correcting me there. That is going to be trouble for me. :(

transferstudent9,

I'm from Colorado!

Little addition:

Just got worried by the "starting Dec. 11th" date, and I decided to call into the College of Arts and Sciences. The lady said that they'd be working on decisions all this week and that they MIGHT be online by mid-afternoon on Wednesday, Dec.10th. Otherwise, I'm going to have to call them up on the 11th and see if anything has changed. I've got a number of serious obligations that need to be handled with housing and dining and my Resident Assistant job. Plus, I've never been to Ithaca, and I'd like to visit before just accepting any decision.

This is gonna be a tight squeeze...

HopingFor, I hope it's true what they've told youuuuuu! :)
man that'd be awsome.

When I called the lady told me that I could try to find out what my decision was regardless of the outcome if I had deadlines to fulfill. Which I do. If I do get accepted I'd have to cancell housing before the 5th, otherwise it's a 250 dollar fee (thank you UMass). But oh well, I am willing to pay the fee instead of lose my housing and have to reapply for it again, we're in a tight squeeze over here. That and with my scores, I don't really want to rush admissions, I hope they take their time reading my essays cos that's the only good aspect of my app. lol

Gaaah, I can't friggen wait that long. lol

um, why do people at the NYU thread are already getting their decision
(bad english I know, I'm sleep deprived)

makes me sad, lol
pfff Cornell Admissions said they only get between 40-60 students, come on now, that's not that many at all :p they should do transfer students first instead of EDs, cos we're older! lol

How sure are you that Cornell only received that many spring applicants?

Are all your GPA's within 3.5-4.0?

Well, I'm not, but they told me they get between 40-60 apps.

nope, mine is a poor 3.2 :(

3.724 cumulative with a 4.0 mid-term report (currently in my third semester).

My theory is that there were about 70-80 applicants. When you login to the online status check, it says "app09-Initials and then application number" (I think). Mine is in the sixties and there was only like a day and a half more applicants after I submitted mine. Just a theory though.

That sounds like an interesting theory... but if thats the case there are more than 200 applicants. My number is in the 200's.

Then again, maybe it's not a good theory. :)

^^I think what they're doing is the same thing they do with e-mail addresses (aka NetID). Your NetID is your initials followed by a number. This number denotes how many people at Cornell have those initials. So...my the number on my NetID is 44...which means I'm the 44th person to come through Cornell with those initials.

Does anyone know of people who got accepted to Cornell on the lower end of the 3.5-4.0 scale? haha... I'm glad I'm working all week, to keep my head focused on something else.
