I've got my fingers crossed for all of you guys!

Thanks dewdrop... our Cornell transfer guru.

Hoping for you guys... and for me next semester =)

I also have heard that ILR would be calling first, this week too! I thought that strange , a phone call? For the other person appplying to ILR, what are your stats? I currently have about 3.5 going into this yeat with a similiar midyear grades. Belong to a number of clubs. 1390 SAT in HS and even took the two Eng 1's they wanted.( al!!ith the other micro, macro etc) What about you?

Could hear today!!

Brooklyngirl, i'm assuming you are talking to me? if not.. oh well, im applying to ILR anyway. I'm a sophomore right now, had a 3.5 at the university of maryland last year. 3.2 first semester and 3.8 second semester which should hopefully look nice having that progression. I transferred to my community college in north jersey this semester and had all A's on the midterm report (but my CC is pretty much a joke). I haven't been in too many clubs in college, but I have a ton of work hours and volunteer hours. I also took two writing classes as well as macro and micro which should help. My HS GPA was probably about 3.6/3.7 UW, SATs were my main weakness 1320 and some bad SAT IIs (luckily they wont see these as a transfer). I was involved in everything in high school though, three-sport varisty letterman, president of national honors society, all this other nonsense too (don't know how much that matters now though). Though my numbers aren't anything to wow the admissions officers, I think I wrote some pretty strong essays, have good letters of recommendation, and have shown a lot of interest over the past year with the staff there.

..after taking forever to type that, it's pretty ironic that I then hit a button saying post "quick" reply.. in any case, the phone call isn't strange it is actually very considerate of them because they are recognizing the quick turnaround time before next semester so the couple of days we'd have to wait to receive a letter could mean a lot to us.. but yeah, the idea of hearing in the next couple of days is pretty exciting. Good luck!

darn, I want to hear soon too. Someone brought up the issue of moving out of their dorm earlire and I agree, it would suck if they told me after the 20th, cos then the dorms are closed, and I don't know how I'd get my stuff.
But that'd BE AMAZING if I got in, seriously, I'll believe in miracles the day it happens. lol

p.s. I just called the arts and sciences admissions office
and the lady told me that I should hear any day now since they are done with ED students and are going through the transfers pretty fast....yey?

I'd be a little worried if they said they were "going through transfers pretty fast." They need to see beyond the numbers for my application... lol... I can wait. I highly doubt we are going to hear before ED though, esp. since they said specific date and time for them: 12/11.

"Any day now"... oh boy oh boy.

travelbook, you must have admissions on speed dial by now

...ummmmm
.....hahahahahahahaha
no...I don't..... ok, yes, yes I do.
But I don't call them that often...I don't think,

and I agree, they reaaaaaaaaallly need to look beyond the numbers of my app, otherwise, yeah...

Has anyone bought any Cornell stuff (shirts, keychain, etc) yet? I've been fighting the urge.

Hahah its okay, there was a solid month during the app process that I was on the phone with the ILR transfer counselor 3 times a week.. they made it into my phonebook. With the markup on college clothes how could you spend money without getting in first. I've wasted a couple hundred dollars on UMD clothing already (but at least the colors are the same)

If you guys end up at Cornell...be sure to check out Kraftee's and Bear Necessities in Collegetown. Great selection of Cornell gear at a huge fraction of the price. Also...Kraftee's sells all the Cornell textbooks for less.

stm yes Iwas sort of gearing my comment to you. I have very similiar stats 1290/2190 Sats. Was your SAT out of two or three parts? I sent mein did you send yours? Why did you leave UMD? Did you live on campus? Hear its a great place. Havent heard from ILR I'll let you know if I do.

Dewdrop:

Did all of your credits transfer? Is it really hard registering for classes as a spring transfer?

I have a Cornell teddybear, lol. But I didn't buy it, my bf did, 'cos he knew I loved Cornell. lol

I hope it charms the admission people that I talked about how I thought harvard sucks, and Cornell is awsome :p I took summer classes there and it was terrible, just a warning, don't do it, unless you have money to waste.

I will see those of you who have been selected during the spring.

^accepted?! Congrats.
