Who's applying for Spring transfer 09'-Cornell

lol. I think you misunderstood me. I actually didn't get anything in the mail yet. I was just asking to see what you recieved. In fact, I think I'm going to be one of the last to recieve the acceptance letter because I live in Canada.

Congrats to you as well!

I hope to see everyone soon!

Ohhh okay. I thought you already had the package, but just wanted to compare it to mine to see if you were missing materials hah. I read some of the booklets and it said we should be notified about our financial aid award shortly. I think we will receive a separate letter about that. If not, I am calling the office on Monday!

When I was accepted for transfer..I believe my financial aid award letter arrived 1 week after the acceptance letter. I'm sure you'll receive your award shortly...might be wise to call on Monday and find out.

Mhawk, the deposit is due on the 9th, it was saying whichever date happens to be later

Ohhh okay. Thanks stm167. Congrats on getting in! Just one more month...:)

Is anyone else still waiting to here back?

Thanks hawk, you too.. Yeah at least a couple are darkstar, don't worry you're not alone. Has anyone who was accepted done their house app yet?

I am not doing anything with the forms until I receive my financial aid package, which should be here within a week or so.

^same as you mhawkjr. lol. I don't have $30K for next semester. My decision as of now is based on fin aid.

Shouldn't all these secondary apps(housing, etc.) be available online? I hate completing apps and then mailing them back; it takes so longggg!!!!

Darkstar, I feel your pain. I hope you hear back soon :)

You can complete housing forms online without submitting your deposit. It says in the brochure and online that it is due 12/15 which is pretty hard to believe since some people haven't heard yet. I was asking if anyone did it yet because they have me down as a freshman and not a transfer, so I was wondering if anyone else's was like that.

On a side note, not to complain too much about Cornell because I couldn't be any happier that I got in, but I can't believe they charge students extra for a gym membership and cable tv, as well as having a pretty expensive parking permit.

Stn , Mhawkyr
would you remember
when your application when "went for review" or when you submitted your app on line.

Thanks
Brooklyn girl

I submitted my common app & payment on 10/01 (downloaded 10/03 & 10/08), by this time all my supporting docs had been sent in already, then I submitted the supplement around 10/10 (downloaded 10/16). Their system wasn't working properly so it took about a week before they said I had submitted my payment, and around 10/20 I think it said it went for review. I'm not positive about the last date (10/20) though.

stm:

haha..yeah, I heard Cornell was pretty stingy. I don't think it makes a difference; all colleges hound you for your money.
I'm not going to get cable tv; it'll be a too big of a distraction. I'm going to get a gym membership for sure though. I have a car, but I don't know if I should bring it to Ithaca. I think it'll be an extra burden; I won't use it that much.

Yeah i'm not going to get cable either, if I really wanted to I could always just watch stuff on my computer.. but I think I want a gym membership since I run a lot and it is freezing there, and I definitely want a car as long as they will let you buy the parking permit for a semester price rather than a full year price.

stm167, I applied to the college of human ecology and have not heard anything back yet. I was just wondering what housing forms are due on the 15th? Is that for on-campus housing only?

Yeah its for the on-campus housing and it says it has to be either submitted online or postmarked by the 15th.. but like I said, I can't imagine they would keep that date for someone who got accepted on the 13th or 14th

zakaqel - parking permits are really expensive and traffic is a real pain. There are buses that go around campus and to the mall. To be honest there isn't much to go to outside of Ithaca besides the mall.

transferstudent9, what are your stats?

iansown, I do not think my stats will help, but i pmed you anyways

lol, yeah, it won't help at all, but anyway, congratulations.
