Who's applying to Pitt from Class of 2010?

Hey everyone! I figured I would start this thread :) Anyone who is applying to Pitt this fall, post here!

I am but I guess i don’t count cuz i applied on August 7th :)

Whoa I just saw your profile I’m applying for Pharmacy too! Did you go to the “So you want to be a pharmacist” day at Pitt.

Haha no you definitely count! I applied May 30th… (a little anxious just to get this whole college application process over with)… I didn’t go to the pharmacy day at Pitt, but I did go for a general tour. I really liked the school! 30,000+ students seems like a lot… but the campus didn’t feel overwhelming when I toured it. What other pharmacy schools are you applying to?

I applied at one of their over-night visit programs in like late june. I still have to submit all the other stuff though.

Nice! eagles10 what are you applying for? Did you like it when you visited?

I’m applying to college of arts and sciences. My dad went there soi t wasnt the first time I had been there. The school is awesome and I really like it a lot.

Oh ok… I’m so worried already that I’m going to have to make a pretty tough decision between Pitt and Butler. I really liked it when I visited, but the huge lectures freshman year freak me out a little…

I applied on August 17th… but I still need to submit my official transcript and my essays / teacher recs.

Applicannot have you visited yet?

Yup. I went to Pitt on August 17th - I stayed there the night prior. Anything you’re curious about? I posted a very detailed visit description here on CC, as well.

Oh ok… I visited too (part of my half-way across the country road trip…). Did you really like it?

I liked Pitt quite a bit, but not as much as some of the other schools on my list. The campus seemed small and generic, but I liked Oakland and I liked what part of the community I saw. It’s my safety school, so while I probably won’t go there, I know I will be very happy if I do.

What’s your first choice?

I will in a couple of weeks…I feel like such a slacker (I had thought I would be really early too!).

My first choice is Washington University in St. Louis, which I’ll be visiting at the end of September. Thankfully it’s not really reachy for me. My second choice is GW, but everything else is on a level playing field.

pbush- i am applying in a couple weeks also. i still think its pretty early considering they get tens of thousands of applicants and i think only a small percentage has applied already. don’t sweat it too much

def454 It can’t hurt to apply early. Especially when you have a bunch of free time over the summer.

i agree, i am even applying to my safety schools early just to get it out of the way and increase chances of scholarship money, n point applying late. I am simply saying that while some have applied, many have yet to apply and that this is still early in the application process. I am only waiting because school hasn’t started for me and my school gets very involved in the application process and helps you polish off your application. I also want to talk to my counselor one last time before i apply anywhere.

I would have to agree with steelersngators on this one too, Pitt seems to be a school that gives out the best scholarships to early applicants. Plus, who wouldn’t want to know by the beginning of October of their senior year whether or not they’re into at least one college?

Applicannot, I’m applying to WashU too. Tell me how your visit goes, I haven’t visited yet. It looks like a really amazing campus though :)
