Why dont I know who our Valedictorian is?

Is this something that is kept secret until Graduation gets close? I probably have an idea, given that the official decisions are in...

Why are you asking us?

At my school class ranks are released every semester (not publicly of course, but it’s inevitably that everybody shares their rank).

why do you care noob

Yeah at my school your rank is posted on your transcript every semester, and everyone always asks who’s who. At the end of last semester, some students were trying to make a list of like the top 15 students or something. If you just ask around, I’m sure you’ll find out.

I’m in the top 5%, so I know a lot of the high up kids. By around 2nd semester junior year, people know who most of the valedictorians are. I know we have 5 and one sal. The sal is actually possibly smarter than all of them (not that they aren’t all geniuses) but she followed her heart and took Philosophy, an unweighted class.
Don’t make a point of asking around, that’s invasive. The info will eventually come to you. If it doesn’t, wait it out.

No way, its not a secret. just ask around! I already know who 5 of the 27 valedictorians are this year.

5 of the 27?

Doesn’t have more than one valedictorian or salutatorian kind of defeat the purpose of it?

At my school they make everyone Valedictorian to make sure no one feels bad.

We don’t have class rank because it’s “politically incorrect”. Isn’t life grand!? -.-

Haha everyone who get above a 4.0 gets a rank of 1.

There’s usually an average of 30-35 “valedictorians”.

Nobody really cares though, there’s not much focus on ranks at my school.

LOL, yes 5 of 27. And it does defeat the purpose of being valedictorian. Its kind of sad, actually.

At another school the person ranked 69 is Valedictorian the school doesn’t want an Over or Under Achiever.

The Valedictorian isn’t necessarily an over-achiever. Maybe they’re just better than everyone else.
