Why is it taking so long...

Awh I love you Ari ! I’m so sad :frowning: When we both end up at UCF it will be awesome !

3.5 gpa… 2070 SAT… denied?! ._.

Ari, I really don’t understand their decision with credentials such as yours. Direct Connect makes you a shoe-in, though, so go for it!

It typically takes two years, the normal allotted time for a full time student to get their aa. I fortunately passed a ton of ap tests and dual enrollment classes, and only need 15-20 credits to get my aa, so we’ll see what happens. Hopefully I can go to ucf next spring if I take a heavy courseload at Valencia! :D

Sent from my SPH-P100 using CC App

15-20 credits? You can do that in one semester if you’re truly dedicated! Good luck with everything!

Btw, is that 3.5 GPA weighted or unweighted?

Weighted to a .5 scale, Mizz. UCF has a different GPA for me though, because they only take certain classes, not including the one I failed and didn’t retake [Lawww], or the one I retook. It also doesn’t include my lower grades, which are gyms, so it should be higher for them. Plus they weight to a 1.0 scale for APs.

Thank god for not counting gym & electives. Only D I’ve ever gotten was in gym this year and the teacher didn’t even know my name so I’m not too sure how she came up with that grade. and my WORST grade last year was a B in ceramics. Hahahaha. I’m expecting a higher UCF GPA than my schools.

Bahaha, gym teachers are lovely, as. Anyway, one way or another, I’m just glad to actually know what I’m doing. I’m gonna start looking for a roommate for while I’m at Valencia, and then my small adventure will begin :D:D

My daughter is on the UCF waitlist…it is 5/25 today, and still haven’t heard anything…The admissions status.,…said that they would let us know by the latest 5/31…We called and of course they cannot give us any information…but I do have a question…
Does anyone know if they only notify you, if you get accepted…or do they notify you either way…I am thinking that at this time…she probably is not being accepted…but just want to make sure…

Thanks…anxious mom

They will notify you either way. The people accepted on the waitlist are taken in order of stats. Good Luck!

alongwait, i just read on another forum that you went to neshaminy. small world… i go to council rock north! i’m hoping to get in for summer b and convince my mom to move to florida so i could eventually get in-state tuition! haha

I’m also on the waitlist and haven’t heard anything also. I was wondering if they only notify you if you’re accepted as well. Guess not which is comforting. Either way I can’t wait for the 31st… I need closure :O

I’m rooting for you Mayday. Even though I’m didn’t get in, nothing was better than just hearing ANYTHING.

Thanks (: & Idk it was before I was wait listed .Now that I am and I know that the odds are against me and how they work I pretty much know the outcome but I can’t stop hoping which sucks  I just want for this to be over. I wan’t to be able to say which school I’m going to without having UCF in the back of my mind. Watch on the 31st I still don’t have an answer.

Mann, I’d go raise hell for yeh. I’m heading down to meet up next month with some Valencia people. I’ve officially got 45 credits thanks to my last 3 dual enrollment classes, and my AP tests will be coming in, and I don’t doubt I passed at least 2. I’m gonna talk to them about Direct Connect, and see if UCF accepts DC transfers in the Spring. I’m also going apartment shopping :D:D I couldn’t find a roommate, so I get my own place in Orlandooo, so, STOKED.

Still waiting until Tues 5/31…by the way…what do you think here are my daughters stats
4.1 Weighted GPA…
358 volunteer hours
Silver Knight Nominee
Lots of AP Classes
Dual Enrollment classes (A and B)
but her biggest downfall…was a 20 on the ACT(not a good test taker).
Great essays,

Several of her friends got in with lower GPA, .but a bit higher on Sat/ACT…
What a shame that such a great student may not get in…we will know in a few days…otherwise she will go to Broward College in South Florida, for a bit and then transfer over…will let you know.

By this point, I don’t have any clue if stats even help D: It seems to be random how they’re choosing. I have friends with MUCH lower stats than mine, who applied around the same time, but got in at the same time I was denied. And I know some with much better, who got denied much earlier. I have no clue how this works D:

same here with the waitlist…tomorrow is final decision day and i am freaking out but yet there are other kids in my school with much lower gpa’s and test scores which got in  im super confused

-__- WTH UCF!! It’s May 31st!!

Lol for some reason I don’t doubt that they won’t have waitlist decisions out tomorrow. Ughhh.
