Why is it taking so long...

Seriously…this is ridiculous…im so upset with UCF. Its my number one school…yet i cant depend my future or where im gonna go until may 1st…or god knows till when…like i need to know where im gonna go…i think im just gonna have to end up at Valencia for my first two yrs. Because I dnt think i wanna wait 3 and a half more months until i get a decision…thats just way too long…at first when i first applied i was somewat excited to go home and look at my portal to see a decision…now…its just like watever…i already know what to expect…“application is still under review”…this blows

^ Haha same here. I checked it at school and home like religiously but now I’m more lax about it. But if Valencia is your second choice then what is the rush ? I know it’s taxing emotionally but you don’t really have to worry about community colleges and registration and all that as soon as you do for universities right?

you know i actually Dont know…im not even sure when i should apply to valencia…im thinking of applying in march…but i hope thats not late…i dnt really know how community colleges work. I should call and ask…but ive been soooo busy with school i havent had the chance to do anything! :/

i would apply to valencia as soon as possible, just so you have it as a possible choice and so you don’t have to worry about it down the road. And I’m pretty sure it is similar to universities, although not quite as demanding, so I would I wouldn’t wait until March or May rolls around. Same for Seminole State, which I already applied to.
Seems if UCF doesn’t get on the ball and either defer or accept me soon here…I’m heading straight for them…not that SSC is a bad school. :)

Oh. I called the Admissions office at UCF. the lady was fairly rude and gave me no answers or helpful information at all.

I believe I’m going up to orlando in a month or so, and I will visit UCF. I’ll ask them questions and blahhh to see whats really happening first hand. Oh and I will try to ask them, why their admissions officers (students, i believe) are rude and impatient on the phone?

@ Viv, good luck with that. You better make sure who you ask doesn’t know your name though lol. I don’t know if they would reject someone because of that but I wouldn’t test it. Or were you already accepted ?

@ Stability, I thought you got into UF and will probably get into FSU? Why go to CC ?

my stats are
3.06 UW
3.8 W
BPA State president, 300 community service hours, 27 ACT, lots of leadership etc… but yeah if i dont hear by may first im either going to Florida Gulf Coast or Northwood University since theyre giving me an 11,000 dollar financial aid package

yeah that their automatic message that they send to everyone -_- they dont even have the decency to actually type something

@may haha IKNOW. I don’t want them to get upset if I complained about their staff lol; and nope I still have not been accepted yet. I’m just mad cause they can’t just tell you whether your in or not…I’m tired of these guessing games, or “we make decision all the time, you’ll just have to (WAIT).” So annoying I swear.

Mayday, oh no I haven’t been been accepted anywhere else. Well except for Seminole really.

my friend was also just denied. He had a 25 act and a 3.5 UW gpa

@ Stab, Ohh Ooops :stuck_out_tongue: hahah I had you confused with someone else. Wait so is Seminole a CC or a college/university ?

@ Mia, when did this friend apply ?

Seminole used to be “SCC” or Seminole Community College.
But recently, or last year or so, it was changed to “SSC” or Seminole State College of Florida.

So now it is a state college.

The same happened in Jacksonville, where Florida Community College of Jacksonville was changed to Florida State College at Jacksonville. Weird.

Same here – Palm Beach Community College changed to Palm Beach State College last year.

Yeah my friend said something about a CC in Lakeland doing that too. Polk State College I think.

i dunno. right now, even though I would love to go to UCF because it’s just a university and all the wonderful connotations that go with it (at least for me), perhaps SCC would be a better choice. Less stress and easier classes.
hmmmm.

so non of you have heard anything back yet?

Uggghh this is so aggravating! I applied as a transfer student quite a while ago, have had my transcripts mailed (and confirmed that they were indeed sent) twice, and have also had my transcripts sent electronically (again, confirmed that they were sent) from my current university, yet UCF is still telling me that my transcripts have not been received! I don’t know what to do, and now I’m fearful that I won’t even get into the university at all, because it’s taking my transcripts so long to get there…

Does anyone have any suggestions??!!
