will Berkeley care?

effing ochem.

yea, its obviously chem's fault in our situation lol

When does this stuff come out? Monday? its killlllling me.

youll be fine, c's are the worst grades you can get though, it effs up your gpa and you cant do anything about it, D you can retake and get it off your final GPA. B doesnt hurt you too much.

To be honest with you ilovecalifornia, getting straight A's in college is so easy. I studied about 2 hrs each day, it didnt put a big strain in my life, it wasnt extremely hard material to study and I pulled straight A's after my first semester where i got 2 B's and one D. After that, i said woah i dont want to be a bum so I did that and got all A's. And im talking about 98 or 96 percents in all my classes. Its soooooo easy EXCEPT for probably O-Chem , EFF that class, ahahah.

thanks mcajon lol i realize that today about how Cs are the worst = /...its just really discouraging to start off college on the wrong foot, but hopefully i'll stay positive and pull off A's for 2 years and impress Berkeley enough so that they don't worry about this class..

i mean the fact that i took in high school should make it 'less of a big deal'? maybe? hopefully lol...

i won'tbe fine. i'm out of state bio major. i'm asian applying for a predominantly asian school and i think i forgot to send one of the forms.

Cs suck...if you are getting a C and it's your first one...try and get a D

Lol, we won't be able to do that at UCLA.

FWIW, when you get to Berkeley your GPA is wiped clean. Meaning, the GPA you worked so hard to achieve to get in, disappears the day you get to Berkeley. Your Berkeley GPA consists of the classes you took there (at Berkeley).

^^ we are already screwed cause of EE...I read that average engineering GPA at UCLA was 2.70...ouch...remember probation is below 2.00

Im just getting ready for my first C...sigh....I think for the first quarter we have to take these classes (this is according to their planning)

=======================
JUNIOR YEAR
1st Quarter

Electrical Engineering 10 -- Circuit Analysis I
Electrical Engineering 101 -- Engineering Electromagnetics
Electrical Engineering 102 -- Systems and Signals

Electrical Engineering 103 -- Applied Numerical Computing

I dont have to tell u that these are VERY DIFFICULT classes...and Circuit analysis I at almost every uni is known as a weeder course...I bought a circuit analysis book to self-study over the summer...let's hope that will help

but of course you'd have to have a pretty high GPA to get into berkeley so it usually isn't a positive that your GPA is wiped clean.

your stressing too much about your grades. its good to be concerned about them but if your gonna go through CCC STRESSING all the time, your setting yourself up to fail.

Citan, I'm taking a 7 unit intro to circuit analysis right now. Hopefully that will level the "playing field." My first quarter, I'll have to take EE2, CS32, and EEM16 since there's no equivalent at my local CCs. Have you taking these equivalents already? And what book title did you buy?

haha damn you. atleast you will be somewhat prepared....maybe self-studying will help....I will try to get atleast to AC current, but I think that will be covered in Circuit Analysis II.

what college do you go to btw?

hmm...now that I think about it maybe I wll have to take the classes u will have to take....haha...see you in class!!!

EE 2 is solid state physics, M16 is digital logic....hmm...not looking forward to any of these

what's CS 32?

Foothill College and De Anza College. It's in the Los Altos and Cupertino area, though I live in San Jose 20 miles away. They are good CCs, better than Evergreen Valley College which is 5 minutes from my home.

I'm not certain on UCLA yet though. I need to wait for UCSD and compare financial aid packages. But yes, I'll probably see you in class!

Oh, and my intro circuit class does cover AC circuits. Pretty much everything that's listed in the description under EE10 is covered in my class.

what book are you using? I bought Fundamentals of Electric Circuits by Alexander & Sadiku.

just found out that CS 32 is basically data structures...bloody hell

That book is very good! It's got great reviews at Amazon.com I have the ebook but haven't read it yet. I'm using Hambley's Electrical Engineering which sucks. When things get muddy, I'll be reading the ebook.

hmm...hambley's is not really a circuit analysis book...more like a primer on EE...it also cover some digital logic if im not mistaken..

yea it's pretty good I bought it based on the reviews...most of them have horrible reviews...I think UCLA uses the Nilsson book which has the worst reviews...

Yea, that's why the book kinda sucks. We're only studying 6 chapters out of the total 17. Our professor said that what we're doing in 11 weeks, Berkeley does in 3! So far, I find myself only studying 3-4 hours a week but I hope UCLA won't be as accelerated!
