will Berkeley care?

well one advantage berkeley has over UCLA is semester system...but that also means that you will be spending more time in college. Also berkeley has more courses I think for EECS than UCLA for which courses in CCs are not articulated.

Citan what do you mean by being on the semester system means that you will be spending more time in college?

yellow: well UCLA has three quarters per year...each quarter you will take 16-17 units...in UCB there are two semester and you will prolly take the same amount each semester. Thats why I think you will take more time to graduate.

I'm in the same boat..i got a C in a Calculus class i took at the local community college when i was a sophomore in high school. It's brought down my overall college GPA (to a 3.72). When i was visiting Cal I talked to a transfer admissions guy and he told me not to worry about it too much because it was so long ago and i've obviously grown since then. I wouldn't really worry too much if i were you as long as you explained the situation in your personal statement.

thanks aubstopper.

i really wish somebody would tell me "DONT WORRY AT ALL, THEY DONT CARE!"

lol but obviously that isn't the case, and it is a C..so i'll just aim for 4.0s in college..hope its not too impossible lol

Citan, doesn't UCLA--and the other quarter based UCs--mete out quarter credits rather than semester units? Also, doesn't 90 quarter credits come out to be equivalent to 60 semester units? I don't think there's that much of a difference in terms of progressing toward the degree.
