For one of my colleges, I answered one of residency questions incorrectly and now I’m worried that I will be classified as out of state. I messaged the college and they probably will take a while to respond. I also realized I made 2 spelling errors in the additional information section. Will AOs probably think that I wasn’t following directions?
Not grounds for rejection.
I assume you’re asking about the residency question. Could be, but unlikely. As long as you get it corrected I think you’ll be fine.
The residency question should be easy to fix. Let the spelling errors go.
If you have more applications to do, take your time to double check things.
Look over the final draft- print it out if you need to. Write your essays and additional info in a Google doc or word so those little errors get caught.
Good luck.
The only reason that you don’t find many spelling mistakes in the works of famous authors is because their publishers have people who are paid to find, and often fix, those errors before the book or whatever goes to print. You can still find spelling mistakes, if you look.
I am willing to bet that no applicant has yet been rejected because of a couple of spelling mistakes, unless they are pretty clearly the result of being unable to spell, rather than a typo.
If you, say, consistently mix up their, they’re, and there, it could have a negative impact, but a few unrelated errors or typos wont have any affect at alll.
I wrote a novella about nine years ago, which I edited. I read the darn thing cover-to-cover three times, painstakingly slowly, and I still managed to leave a couple of typos and a spacing issue or two in it. It’s hard work.
It is still available on Amazon, if anyone is interested. The Legend of Bambo. PM me for my last name – you may need that to find it. I think I’ve sold about 100 of them. hehe
