Will I be able to get into Purdue with scholarship money?

Hi, I am currently a sophomore at a a very competitive and challenging high school. I took one AP and one Honors as a sophomore(max I could) and got all A’s first semester and 2 B’s second semester. I took 7 classes so my gpa for the first semester is 4.29 and for the second is 4.00 (weighted). This makes my weighted gpa 4.15 and my unweighted 3.86. Next year I will be taking 2 AP’s and 2 Honors and will probably get all A’s to make my gpa 4.36 weighted and unweighted 3.93(I think). My current ACT is 27 that I took as an official practice test and I plan to study more and get a better score. I will also be taking a rigorous senior year but I don’t think that counts for much if not any. Not sure if freshman year is important but I got all A’s and one B freshman year.

That is all the academics and now for EC’s. I am on the speech and debate team and will continue doing so for the rest of high school. I am a boy scout and will be finishing my eagle this summer. I have done a lot of community service so that isn’t much of a problem either. That’s all I can think of for now but I probably have 500+ hours of community service.

I am planning on going into engineering but I’m not 100% sure which field exactly. I live in California and some of the schools that I am currently interested in are Purdue, Cal Poly, UIUC, UC San Diego, UC Davis and maybe some others when I learn about more colleges. So my question is, if I end junior year with the GPA’s above and get an ACT around 33 what are my chances of getting into these schools and getting any scholarship money. I am very open-minded for other colleges and am not bent upon going to these specific colleges. Any advice for what I can do now to increase my chances would be much appreciated as well. Thanks a lot in advance!

Purdue is very stingy with OOS applicants. There is merit $ available but only for the tippy top applicants (think ACT 34).

As for getting in, the typical avg ACT of admitted freshmen into the Engineering school is ~31. But due to lower yield, the avg of matriculating freshmen into COE is ~28.

I agree with @T26E4. Purdue ins an unlikely place for a scholarship. It is somewhat less than many other top programs to begin with though so consider total COA. OSU, MSU, Clemson, are more likely to give some scholarships for 30-34.
