So its wierd I feel young at my community college right now, because a lot of people are in their late-mid 20's who are in school. I just turned 20 this year and a lot of people in my classes say im sooo young. But how come when I transfer next year to the UC and live in the dorms, I will be old? I hear when you enter the UC's most people are 18-22. 22 is seen as old there?

You’re only as old as you feel/ prove yourself to be.

I’m 30 and sitting amongst both teenagers and adults in my classes at UCD. I live off campus and obviously in the dorms students are much younger since they have entered as freshman out of high school. As calberks said, you’re only as old as you feel or prove yourself to be. Good luck. :)

I’m 25 but I haven’t felt old at all during my experience so far at Cal… except when I realize that a lot of the people I’ve met in my classes (Juniors) still aren’t 21 and can’t go to bars lol. I also look really young so most people don’t even notice.

I think the dorm experience really depends on the UC that you end up attending. Here, there are very few 3rd and 4th years (or even sophomores) that dorm but they have ones specifically set aside for transfers.

I’m 22 and I feel old in the one freshman class I’m taking. In my upper divs I don’t feel old though. Most my friends are also transfers and they are older than I am. I can see feeling old if you live in the dorms, but you’re going to be at a big school. Find people you can relate too and you won’t feel different.
