Would like to get into UGA as it could ultimately be the school I go to.
OOS (Illinois)
3.97 Unweighted GPA
4.04 UGA GPA
32 super-scored ACT (35 English, 28 Math, 35 Reading, 28 Science).
I took 3 out of 5 potential AP classes at my HS (APUSH, AP Chemistry, AP English (Senior year)). However, I did not continue AP Chemistry 2nd semester (I realize this is alarming).
President of my class, a captain on the football team, StuCo board and many other clubs/leadership roles. Lots of other resume builders. Community service is respectable and my letters of recommendations were fantastic.
Applied EA and got deferred and obviously missed out on the February 23rd decisions.
Went for Pre-Business.
Really wanting some feedback on my chances so I can attempt to control some anxiety. Was also accepted into Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
You’ll get in to UGA. College takes whatever anxiety you have and magnifies it times 3. Best way to deal with anxiety is to get in with a psychiatrist as soon as you start school. Make sure there’s a way to pay for an out of state college too. Racking up large student loans will make your anxiety much worse, and you can’t escape loan payments like you can drop a class.
^ I agree. You’ll get accepted- You have a solid GPA, high test score, and have taken the majority of the most rigorous courses offered at your school. You seem to have a sufficient amount of extracurriculars and hold various leadership roles.
Your stats are very similar to mine, and I got accepted into the RD February wave so don’t stress too much!
One more thought…when I applied EA, my act was a 31 superscore. After taking the December act I was able to bump that up to a 32, but still didn’t get accepted in February. Knowing that the only way EA deferrals can get in during the February decisions is improved test scores, what do you think happened in my case? I would have considered my application information as fringe EA acceptance, and would have assumed that I would be accepted in February with the improved act. Am I underestimating the quality of applicants that are accepted in the EA period? Or is it the red flag that I have which is obviously the discontinuation of AP Chemistry the second semester?
